I don't understand how the good folk of the US are not out in the streets in their millions protesting about this stuff.
Fear? Apathy? Something else?

Not in the US, but the present situation there has led me to read it, and am currently reading the sequel, 'The Testaments'.
Scary parallels...

I think it likely that the world lost all trust in the US the day Trump was elected for a second term. I know I did.

'The Handmaids Tale' resonates the current climate to some degree.

Just reading The Handmaid's Tale, and coming to the same conclusion about its prophetic nature.

Never had that happen in over 20 years of having Linux as my main OS.

I would never encourage anyone to take risks, but I ran a Windows 7 machine for some specific things for two years after EOL without a single issue. It even got regular updates to Windows security software.

So you are either making it up, or relying on word of mouth from someone?

Do you have a source reference for that?

For a brief moment I thought you meant the computer operating system, and was about to reply 'what a great idea'!

My take is that Yorkshire puddings go with any red meat, but not with poultry. (or fish, but that probably doesn't need saying.)

There are a number of them that are free, very easy to install, and any you don't like can be completely removed with a few mouse clicks.

Other than the inbuilt speakers being poor, I've had no other issues. My soundbar is Bose, connected optically.

It's a song about drug abuse and failed relationships. To make it more poignant it is set at Christmas time. That does not make it a Christmas song in the traditional sense.

...then do the same with 'Fairy Tale Of New York'.
"You old slut on junk (heroin)" for example.

I've seen that happen to a relatives hens, and it wasn't pretty.
Hunting any animal is clearly not right, but foxes do need to be controlled.

I'm guessing this references the US.
In the UK, a degree is required, then 9 months of full-time training. Alternatively you can do it as a 4 year under-graduate course.
None of this is paid. Tuition feeds are required, although you might qualify for a repayable student loan.

Wine works well with MS Office, but also compatibility with LibreOffice gets better with every release.
