Housing is essential but also complex. IF even basic construction targets were met, according to Dr Locan Sirr, that alone will push emissions beyond targets. So how to square that circle?

Alongside Lady's Island is second lagoon of south Wexford, Tacumshin Lake SAC & SPA. Equally polluted. Equally in need of restoration. Bird numbers here have plummeted in past decade. Much run-off from agriculture.

Perhaps this unity of the opposition augurs well for the future if opposition holds government to account on 'strokes' in other domains - offshore planning & environmental protection, for example.
