Now more than ever we should be continuing to build bonds with our neighbours. Cross the border, support local businesses, meet new people. A trade war waged by oligarchs for oligarchs need not drive a wedge between the rest of us.

Republicans don’t mean a single thing they say. It’s all just a means to an end. We can call them on it all day but it doesn’t phase them because they already got what they wanted from the transaction.

How does anyone look at this and not think, oh these people are completely deranged?

I agree we all have to pull together but these tariffs are already far more impactful than you or I visiting each other and spending some fun money at the local bars and restaurants. I love travelling to the US and would love to see more Americans out our way. Let’s get through this together.

Canadian here with a trip planned to San Diego in April I fully plan to take because I don’t want to create division between our people on behalf of a few greedy oligarchs determined to break the world. When they say no one wins a tariff war, dividing us is part of that. Let’s not let them.

This has big "blame the striking workers for the reduction in my service" energy.

You need to know that Trump is hurting the blue states in this situation and you are blaming the victim.

A change of scenery can help. If there’s another bedroom at your place you can try swapping for a few nights. Even the couch in a pinch can make a difference. Or if you can spare the coin, a hotel or motel room.

My favourite part about reading posts is when people who get the attention they crave complain about it

If luck is defined by putting in the hard work and being recognized for your artistic achievement, with a side of inspiring others (hi), then I would agree with that assessment. You got very lucky and I hope more of the stuff comes your way.

You’ll never have to hire a human agent ever again
So it’s infinitely scalable
Yea! Yea, that’s it. Infinitely scalable (shit we should use that)
And better than a human
Hm?
It’s better at providing customer support than a real person, right?
It’s infinitely scalable!

Visiting man shoots and kills everyone in town, raising murder concerns as he vows to continue doing this to every town he passes through

Frankly, I see it less as self promoting and more as public service announcements. Thanks for the heads up!

That’s very helpful, and in line with some recent feedback I’ve received about leaning too much on the emotional side. Thank you for helping me process that note.

Theres been some interesting discussion on this when it comes to showing v telling how a character feels.
Describing a physical reaction kind of feels like the blueprint approach where describing the emotional state feels more evocative to me.
No hard right/wrong but curious your thoughts?

I hear you, and we’re all entitled to our feelings, but expecting everyone to ascribe to the exact standard you’ve set forth multiple times over this post honestly feels uninclusive. You’re assigning bad intent and that dismisses/silences a lot of what appears to be well intended contribution.

This is such an insanely guilt-ridden “I still need to find some way to shine a spotlight on me” take. You helped make everything 100x worse and still you’re pointing the finger at everyone else. Truly detached from reality.

That part often feels like too much to think about and a terrifying distraction until I’ve at least got a major competition win or high score on the blacklist to back myself up with

We have a real soft spot for Ernest P Worrell in this house. That’s a great intro to horror for 6, I can see it being both fun and super scary, but not traumatizing like a Freddy or Jason would be at that age!

Getting ploughed by the chairs both in front of and behind me is a kink of mine for sure.
