Ooh! Overtime!

That would require an act by congress that would replace the one I just described. Not saying it’s impossible. It’s currently seen as unlikely even by LGBTQ advocacy groups. But I understand the anxiety. We are talking about MY marriage, after all.

To be fair, the orchestra conductor told the post there were other long standing scheduling conflicts they’d been struggling to resolve, well before the Trump takeover of the Kennedy Center.

Good luck circumventing the Respect for Marriage Act signed in 2023 which says that even if a state outlaws ssm they must honor marriages performed in states where it is legal.

This is called complying in advance. The order is under injunction. This is a choice they are making, not something they are compelled to do by law.

Almost like the government cannot punish people for saying things it doesn’t agree with. It’s buried deep in the Bill of Rights somewhere. Only legal experts know the archaic law I’m talking about.

That’s BONKERS. Let’s pardon people who knocked off a liquor store that day too. In fact, let’s just declare J6 as the purge.

Yep. They are ready to give up on three co-equal branches of government because they are racist transphobes. That is what it boils down to.

No one likes using the gov cards. They are a racket. So, thanks? I guess. I’ll keep my receipts.

Weird, were they in a bar when any of this “fighting” was happening? If not, seems to likely to have been metaphor.

Depends on the final ruling.

Good luck suing a private company for their speech.

Nah, the case is also about his ability to disrupt funds that were approved by congress.

It’s almost like they are super close to the Russian border and Putin has openly joked about trying to occupy them.

I appreciate that you reflected on the comparison. Not many folks do that. I wish you and your husband better times.

His numbers are terrible for this early in a term. Like really really bad.

You do not compromise with fascists. That is how we got here.

He’s making a joke about the Matrix. What he wrote was straight out of the script and it was hilarious.
comment in response to post
I remember that it took me forever to see the Matrix because I Keanu is so bad in everything. Somehow they made it work!

Lol when he said “we are the federal law”, did hear her say, “no you’re not”. I hope so. I hope people start reminding him how lawmaking works in this country.

It’s the most basic question. God these people are so stupid. How are we losing our democracy to such idiots?

“Boomer is as bad as a racist slur” omg shut up. You just made your post the least serious one here. People MIGHT have heard you, but now? Nope.
comment in response to post
Why didn’t they go there in the first place. Serious question looking for someone who knows.

Lol, mmkay. Let him try it.

November, I guess

The mechanisms for dealing with it are very slow as long as the legislative branch refuses to intervene, which since they are GOP controlled, they currently refuse. So it’s left to courts and they are slow. That said, the Trump administration is actively in noncompliance with court orders. So 🤷‍♂️

He’s a statistician and really should steer clear of cognitive psychology. IQ studies such a narrow range if cognitive ability. I’d argue that the most influential people were highly skilled in areas that aren’t even measured by the test. Likeabiliy, for instance.

Gonna rescue them in his exploding rocket

Sucks having illiterate parents who never took a civics class. Can I please have new parents?

There isn’t a single thing he has done that should be a surprise to anyone. He told us exactly what he would do. We warned them. I’m over whinny Trump voters. Sorry, too bad about your SNAP benefits. That’s what you get for being a racist.
