I didn’t see your post with the reference that has been deleted, but I assume it’s along the usual lines of Dems thinking taxes pay for programs which is infantile

Having respect for someone or something is not the same as fearing it. People should think about it

Because it lacks the hostile and vicious tone is my reason.

So glad to see you on bsky. I won’t kill my Twitter account yet, but now that some important MMT folks and others are here, I’m feeling like letting Twitter stew for awhile

I don’t dispute your view on Israel and genocide in Gaza, nor U.S. backing. Another stain that will never come out. Four more years of Trump would have an immeasurably deeper impact on our society and economy over time because of the sheer breadth of destruction domestically as well as international

Moral of story: no music when losing virginity or early relationship sex. Preserve your rights to your own experience

Some people will actually think this is a buzzard just because you say so.

No, I hope not, but if they don’t vote for Joe Biden it is ineffective vote for DT. It’s just math, nothing personal

No. By not voting or voting for a third party candidate it pushes the math to favor DT.

And pave the way for Trump to claim his rightful win? Then what?

I read that younger voters are deciding not to vote for Biden because of the Israeli genocide in Gaza. That is a moral response and reasonable but I have to ask what would Trump do? After all, DT moved the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, an unnecessarily provocative action.

Not stupid. Far from it. I’m only feeling hopeful about the future precisely because of the people under 30. But experience shows what happens when the vote is split over a single issue: you end up losing more on the issue you care about most

I’m sure she’s cloaking herself in normality here because it is good for adults to make kids feel safe. As an M4L supporter she probably assumes her kids can only feel safe if they have a strict conservative father and mother who will punish them for “bad” thoughts and feelings

Well stated. Even property rights are not unlimited. One doesn’t have the right to set fire to one’s own home, presumably because the neighbor’s home could be endangered. In a healthy family, parental authority comes from a place of love and respect, not arbitrarily imposed power

Younger folks can choose to look down their noses at voters who choose the least bad major candidate in the Presidential election; but, unless the math shows you have at least a 50% chance of winning you’re throwing away your vote on that “best” candidate.
