How will kids be able to text their parents goodbye during school shootings?

If, like me, you need some direction about how to fight the end of democracy in the US and the patriarchal white supremacists who seek that end, here is a guide for how to act now: lots of options here for all sorts of forms of resistance. Thank you to @rebeccasolnit.bsky.social and team for this.

This afternoon, I was hiking along the Mississippi River in north Minneapolis, MN. As always, I had my camera with long zoom lens for birds. Folks in Minneapolis, there has been a helicopter circling over South Minneapolis (we live near Lake and Minnehaha) for a while, but it is NOT showing up on my flight radar app. Anyone know what's up? I saw one local poster who said they saw a US Customs & Border Control chopper today!

3/3 including all children here born of resident aliens.” The case signaled national acceptance of the concept of citizenship as birthright for all—with the significant exception of its exclusion of some indigenous peoples. There is just no way to make such a thing happen via EO (given 3 branches)

2/3 Justice Stephen J. Field wrote in the majority opinion that the 14th Amendment "affirms the ancient and fundamental rule of citizenship by birth within the territory . . .

1/3 The EO ending Birthright citizenship is of course blatantly unconstitutional, given the 14th amendment of 1868. It also unconstitutionally attempts to overturn the landmark 1898 US v. Wong Kim Ark, a case centered on a California-born son of Chinese immigrants who left the US to visit China.

Rest in peace, Jimmy Carter. Thank you for being one of the remarkable people who demonstrated that what's often thought of as time for retirement is when some among us reach their prime. Thank you for your feminism, your advocacy for Palestinians, your hands-on Habitat for Humanity work....

We need a ban on stock trading by members of Congress. I am sure the vast majority of our constituents would agree.
