This morning’s sunshine has reminded me of the word ‘philocaly’: a love of beauty, even in the smallest things.

Wow. Caroline Kennedy breaks her silence on RFK Jr in a message to Senators: “We grew up together. It’s no surprise that he keeps birds of prey as pets because Bobby himself is a predator. He enjoyed showing off by putting baby chickens & mice in a blender to feed to his hawks.”

Today’s show was my last at CNN. My closing message: It’s never a good time to bow down to a tyrant… don’t give in to the lies. Don’t give in to fear. Hold on to the truth… and hope.

Word of the day is ‘matutolypea’: extreme grumpiness in the morning. From the Latin ‘Matuta’, Roman goddess of the dawn, and the Greek ‘lype’, ‘grief’. Put them together and you get ‘morning grief’.

Speaking of healthcare. Let's make @bsky.app the platform that fights misinformation. Some great follows are @drsusanoliver.bsky.social @jsm2334.bsky.social @therealtruther.bsky.social Let's get them more followers and engagement than other platforms and let health science accounts find a home

Google “Did Jack…” No. No, he didn’t.

um

The facts are, the ACA saved millions with pre-existing conditions and set standards for care. But now, more than a decade later, with what we now know, it’s time to take the insurance companies out of the mix. The subsidies they get are enormous. We don’t need them as middlemen.

My statement on the Special Counsel’s final report:

Sadly, we all know the answers to these questions 🫤🇺🇸

There is no more important story that needs your attention than the fact that the GOP is trying to steal a North Carolina Supreme Court seat. Please watch, share, and take action. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xzh1...

Word of the Day is ‘uhtcearu’ [ucht-kay-aru, with the 'ch' as in the Scottish ‘loch']: Old English for ‘the sorrow before dawn', when you lie awake in the darkness and worries crowd your mind.

His video is appalling to impugn fact checkers like that. He could use all the tools if he actually cared and X is now a toxic waste dump. One thing is true: Fact checking does not work on a platform that cannot be sued and has been built to advantage the liars.

The censorship algorithm on Twitter reduced our audience by roughly 95%, and seriously, who does that to a wildlife biology & advocacy group ? So we moved 😇 over here to BlueSky If you could, please help us regain our following Follow Retweet and Repeat ;-) Together we can change the world.

Ann Telnaes, a Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist at The Washington Post, says her cartoon below was killed by Jeff Bezos, the paper’s owner. Bezos didn’t want the cartoon to become public because it shows him kneeling before Donald Trump. You know what to do.

Everything stated in this post is a provable fact. You are entitled to your own opinion. You are not entitled to your own facts. Looking at YOU, 2020 election-deniers.

For all intensive purposes, what idioms or colloquialisms do people seem to constantly get wrong?

It also makes it harder for them to ban books.

Congratulations to Mike Johnson for trying to pressure the House Ethics Committee into burying a report that found the then-nominee for attorney general had engaged in sexual activity with a minor. Party of Family Values, am I right?

Oh, #SanDiego 💙💙💙 Happy Sunday Blues!

We wish you a Merry Kiwi 🥝 💚 💚 💚

I bought this Reverse Coloring book for a Christmas gift 🎁 but couldn’t resist trying it! Keeping for us now! Took awhile for my husband to grasp the concept—but it’s very cool! #christmas #christmascrafts #merrychristmas

PS--one of my favorite reads this year and book I love to gift is Calico tinyurl.com/3h4pa63p #booksky @leegoldberg.bsky.social

Oof, plants and flowers are the least desirable holiday gifts? I disagree--but then I also think books are great gifts! (You know, like Brandy, You're a Fine Girl) tinyurl.com/4zyprpzk #booksky

Only grand-baby on the horizon—trying to make the best of it. #forthebirds

I just found out that around 20% of the neanderthal genome still exists today in living people!! No individual person has more than 3 or 4% but we don't all have the same bits. If you add up all the bits we've found, about a fifth of the Neanderthal genome is still present on earth today.

This is truly the best legal advice we can give.

Etymology of the day is ‘jargon’, from the Old French ‘jargoun’, meaning the ‘chattering of birds’.

Actually, sentiment and bias analysis have been around for a while. If we can get the @latimes.com reporters to post their stories on @bsky.app , with the open firehose, any academic or researcher can analyze everything they post. And nothing will ever be as bad as the cuecat!

Abbott elementary starts at 8pm this week with an hour long special. Please spread the word! 🎄 🫡

You can thank me later… 😉

The little in our house this holiday took it upon herself to update the #Lego instructions 🎁 🤶 🎄

can’t stop thinking about this Mary Oliver poem 🥹

Word of the day, though I’m sure no one will need it, is ‘eye servant’ (16th century): an individual who only pays attention or works hard when the boss is looking.

Word of the day is ‘hibernacle’ (18th century): a hibernating animal’s winter retreat. I believe it works on a human level too.

nobody does more brutal fashion reviews than the irish

My husband just thanked me for vacuuming our closet. I certainly don’t intend to tell him I accidentally dropped the lint roller and then just went for it! #householdtips
