Just sent the government my accomplishments

Dear Mr. Musk, What we found out is that each one of us is 1. a brain 2. and an athlete 3. and a basket case 4. a princess 5. and a criminal. Does that answer your question?

elon musks method of childcare:

Scream this from the rooftops. Powerful men being certain that "if you're smart at one thing you must be smart at all of the things."

Peronist Fujimorism with Pol Pot characteristics

not dangerous like an evil genius. dangerous like a dog driving a train

American democracy is crumbling, and the Times is here horserace'ing Canada's conquest. Incredible stuff. But also: 1) there would be war, 2) we will never accept U.S. institutions, and 3) U.S. democracy would be long gone if this ever happened. So no, Dems don't benefit. Get it together NYT

a good example of how the world is getting dumber. the new politico playbook writer didn't know who FDR was until a reader told him about that whole "new deal" thing. this newsletter is read by every important person in DC.

democrats won’t admit it, but my family’s economic outlook has gotten a LOT better since Trump took office. but what do i know? i don’t have a fancy economics degree, i’m just a regular guy who runs an airplane scrapyard

Not to flex but anyone who followed Elon's hyperloop arc saw this coming a mile away. He said he could save 90% over high speed rail by ... buying land cheaper. That was it, he never offered any further specifics and the media utterly failed to convey how much of a charlatan he was.

The JD Vance team flagged my TikToks for impersonation and had my account banned for making fun of him in a doughnut shop.

the whole “americans don’t think anything genuinely bad can happen, politics is mostly a game” thing is so true my dad (long since lost to fox) prob thinks it’s basically a normal presidency so far older prof, seeing my grimness on the day after the election, chuckled at me—“we’ll all be fine”

So basically what we're learning here is that money isn't safe in your bank account and can literally just vanish overnight if the government dislikes you personally. I wonder if that scary information spreading organically, perhaps on social media, could have some negative consequences.

If you want to know why Trump is able to rule like an autocrat, compare the Washington Post' coverage of the Saturday Night Massacre with Trump doing exactly the same thing

Mitch is a big part of how we got here. He did it for personal power and money. He doesn't have the option of rehabilitating his image because something personally affected him and he is reaching the end of his years.

Hmmm

After speaking with Big Balls about foreign policy issues, I am ready to vote to confirm him as Secretary of State. -Susan Collins, 2027

DOGE at the local government level already exists it's called ransomware

We need a Schoolhouse Rock for Executive Orders, bc the media keeps treating them like they have the power to rewrite the Constitution and supersede statutes or create new crimes. THEY. CANNOT. They are simply how POTUS tells HIS ppl what he wants them to do under current laws.

Wish there was more than a like button for this. Anybody who has lived in a country where the rule of law does not apply can see where this leads. Aside from minority groups, nobody in US really has experience living in a place where power and wealth drive literally everything so take it for granted

I can’t believe the Supreme Court said the president was above the law and now the president is acting like he’s above the law.

... he says from his home office.

A lot of reporting on the shock-and-awe campaign seems awfully credulous about the ultimate goal here being to “slash government”. To the extent that’s happening, it is incidental to the aim of consolidating and centralizing power.

We are in the middle of an unprecedented, wildly unconstitutional campaign against our federal government. course the world's most valuable journalistic space is turned over to Peter Baker so he indulge in the semi-erotic thrill he gets from Trump's masculine virility

half time show 2025

guy with a literal "relationships with teenage girls" section on Wikipedia didn't like Kendrick Lamar what a surprise

All of these Matthew McConaughey ads for AI - how to buy clothes! book a restaurant! find your gate at an airport! - only underline that AI is not providing a lot of real value.

I am sure that my good friend Neil Gorsuch will not be swayed by his clerks that are taking money from Elon Musk. by Neal Katyal

This whole thread is extremely concerning.

“If there’s two things I love, it’s anti-LGBT discrimination and the high society arts scene in the District of Columbia and New York City, particularly musical theater.” -Donald Trump, 2025.

Is it just me or has WIRED been dogwalking the rest of the media on this story

It would be funny if JD Vance tweeting that posting stuff shouldn't cost a 25 year old his job ends up costs JD Vance his marriage.

In JD Vance's "ordo amoris," a neo-Nazi techbro comes before his own wife apparently

It will be my honor to remake US passenger aviation in the image of SpaceX, which hasn’t had a rocket explode in over three weeks. by Elon Musk

Many such cases

Senator Schatz, @schatz.bsky.social, rejects idea that Dems should wait for Trump to touch 'most popular' programs to fight. "I'm not going to just wait until they touch the ACA. That's the kind of pundit-brain, poll-tested bullshit that got us into this mess." www.newyorker.com/news/q-and-a...

Voters can’t put onus on Republicans because Republicans do not care about what voters think. This sort of comment from a Dem underscores how they fail to understand their agency in creating a national narrative and using their platform to create pressure. The more noise, the more MSM has to look.

Ask yourself: what would Jim from the Office do, if he became the Joker

I'm sure he'll learn his lesson soon.

Trump’s plan to take over Gaza and turn it into the “Riviera of the Middle East” is illegal, immoral, and indefensible.
