It's ok to stay ignorant & let someone else think for you ig. "Education" isn't just a degree, it's daily learning with discernment. This "trusting the outcome without having any clue if it's right" part is *terrifying* to me. Who exactly are you trusting when you take its answers as truth?

I'm so tired of the base survival mindset, I spend all my energy either grinding out job searches or repairing my mental health.
Apologies for bleakness. I just had to.. say something somewhere, to remember I exist. We are more than our jobs, but you can't really do much living without money.

I've never had a problem getting a job before. I don't even care if I make more than my last one (which would be hard to find anyway, since they made that job specifically for me).
Not being able to plan for a future happening, living day-by-day, feels just like COVID "one more day" base survival.

And freelance is its own kind of exhausting--marketing yourself for so many hrs a week unpaid, plus all the "real" job apping--and you can't plan around it, at all.
I've started even applying in cities I'd have to move to. Cost of living hike and inconvenience but..I need to be able to future plan.

So, the culturally pervasive idea that I could just go out and "get any job" until I find something better is ludicrous.
i can remote freelance w/in my specialty for 10hrs/wk for the same $ as I'd get doing some basic admin job in person for 40, here.
even here $20/hr barely pays rent/groceries rn
