Adam Conover did a good video about why they "hate science" — they want to take our tools and weapons away

I like your optimism about justice returning, like she ever really lived here 😭 she only comes through when she feels like it, and half the time it's not really justice, it's just something gross wearing her face as a mask

SS vs. ICE, I can just envision Trump announcing it like WWE. I'm not really predicting it, but hey who knows anymore

I hope not and also they're staying quiet so it probably won't escalate like it already is with folks who aren't quiet

I've really wondered about this & I think some core of people identify with them to a strange degree & then bad faithers amplify that response — my grandma & her sister identified with Clinton & the apologia came from being self-defensive about white women close to their age & many of their ideals

well do we want to see the Obamas deported to Kenya or do we want to see them enjoy basketball. Part of me is like "serve your damn country Barack, take a risk, you bailed out the banks which is part of why we're here!!" and another part of me would be sick to see the Obamas experience real violence

I did cry during one of the debates because she just sounded so sane and grown up and I was like "oh God please save us" and then...

if we could do the Baha'i election process for a dictator I would go for it. if Kamala had won and signed an "unconstitutional" EO demanding the American people all get free healthcare and our jobs actually have to pay us I would have gone to my grave her biggest fan

yeah and I'd be more down with the rule of law if it was doing fuck-all to protect us from them, the corpos, grifters, magats, et al. we apparently live in a world where we have to get murdered by fascists for a bit every 80 years until we can re-achieve some shitty status quo.

hmm I remember hearing it more than once, but ok. She did talk about project 2025 and that's part of what got me to vote for her.
comment in response to post
ah yes, impeachment, a thing Donald Trump has never experienced before, that'll stop him 😭
comment in response to post
yeah I'd be pretty happy with any president who used an EO to make corporations pay fair wages, idgaf about the rights of corporations, I'm not the SCOTUS

there is totally a market for Barbie parts, there's someone at my regional burn who makes massive sculptures out of mangled Barbies. I bought an old Barbie on Etsy a while back, not mangled, to have a tiny dress form for sewing experiments — she was $3 I think?

the same way Trump is dismantling the DoE ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

she spent a lot more time attacking Trump than focusing on those policies, she kept talking about "preserving the most lethal military or whatever" and it sucked. I voted for her but the campaign sucked

I went to Crater Lake in Pitkin County every summer for years, then I didn't for a bit, then I went back in what, 2018 I think, and I fell to my knees when I saw the water level. The government can murder me if it wants and then I don't have to see the end of the world, indeed

Part of me wants to criticize Kamala Harris for not like, saying much, but another part of me has no desire to see her "deported" so...

but really, a volunteer military is not a representative example of people in general. we fought about it once. I worked at a smoke shop in our hometown, saw a slice of every type of person, he only got slices of types who join the Navy. But those slices convinced him people were generally good so 🤞🏻
comment in response to post
I mean. I know the Navy officer I used to date would at least question the orders, but really, the vast majority would refuse?? I've been reading about the leadership shakeups, Linda Fagan, Lisa Franchetti... When Mike was deployed he would tell me about how diverse and interesting his crew was...

sometimes I watch Cocomelon while babysitting and I envy that fictional preschool teacher with only 6 kids in her class. like. I'd have all my certs and stuff in order if preschool teaching was like that.

one of the biggest problems in America is that anybody is expected to be able to deal with 30 children at once. Insane. I never finished my teaching degree because I kept meeting teachers who told me to run away, I'd be overworked and underpaid, and a huge part of that was the thought of 30 kids

she's part of the faux-opposition rich people party. Her brother-in-law is like CFO at Uber, she never talked about raising wages, and apart from that she and Emhoff have the money to ride this out if Trump doesn't try to deport her, which, you know, he might ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
comment in response to post
well I mean, losing a kid is unimaginable, having to lift the veil of delusion and see that it's your fault?? I would probably double down too, honestly, rather than face the fact that I killed my kid.

here's a picture of a kitten named Katara that I took yesterday. I know it won't help all the fascsism but hey! She's cute

also, it makes me so sad that we've made these precious relationships with animals unethical. the first woman who couldn't breastfeed her newborn and turned to the goats for milk did not anticipate factory farming 😭
comment in response to post
yeah the question of "ethical food" is so incredibly sticky. I've been very frustrated by a certain type of vegan who insists all non-animal-products are ethical and I'm like. A migrant child was underpaid to pick your strawberries. Does their exploitation not matter?

ewww why do you insult Hank like this??

yeah I found you on my desktop back in 2007. we were both eagerly anticipating a book release and you wrote a song about it. if only I could still love those books like I still love Nerdfighteria!

yeah I mean I went for this one because Piglet always ends up being brave with a little help from his friends :)
