Great advice on helping someone who is grieving.

Been getting so much use out of Gimp. One nephew/niece project after another. Can’t wait to see what’s in 3.0. 🖖🏻 www.gimp.org

Cobra Kai finished the fight! An amazing final season with some truly “Holy shit!” moments (in a good way) and what an ending.

🥳

I… I don’t… This is so…

Very minor gripe of these times. One thing that annoys me about the Apple Watch is ringtones. Still don’t have the option to mirror them with ya phone.

The Oregon Trail generation speaks

In STNG Captain Picard quotes Judge Aaron Satie: With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censored, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied chains us all irrevocably." I strongly advise everyone to read today's badastronomy newsletter by Phil Plait. Stand up.

I, for one, am happy to learn Man vs Bee is got another season. Nephew and I are eagerly awaiting Man vs Baby.

Watched Sleuth tonight. Just two good actors with good writing. So refreshing.

Went to the theater for the first time since Rise. Nephew wanted to see Dog man. He loved it. So glad I got to experience his first time with him. 🖖🏻

Never been an ebook guy. Not sure why. But! I’ve been reading graphic novels on my iPad with my nephew. That I’m loving.

Helped my mom make the nephew a Valentine’s Day shirt. He’s 7, very kind hearted, and wears his heart on his sleeves. A lot is going on in the world that’s really messed up, but it’s little things like this that help me keep my chin up and fighting. 🖖🏻

Watched a fantastic documentary: Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story. Such a lovely, powerful, and timely message. Highly recommend. 🥲🖖🏻

Best video, review, and commentary on this movie I’ve see.

So, I watched Section 31. It’s indeed a terrible Star Trek movie. If you take the Trek out, you still have a boring shell of a movie that’s extremely predictable. Skip it. The highlight is the Jamie Lee Curtis cameo at the end, and I wish they would have put her in the Academy show instead.

I’ve been out of the loop due to the whole snow in New Orleans thing. So. Umm. A lot has happened.

Did not want to get up this morning. Bed was nice and warm, but this site was worth it.

And it keeps coming! Nephew, niece, and I are loving it!

Snow in the greater New Orleans area… Wohoo!

There was no other director like him, and it's kind of a miracle that he was able to do all the wild, weird and strange work that he did, for as long as he did, and mostly with studio money. RIP. www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie...

Skeleton Crew was a great ride. Far more than just Star Wars: Goonies. Highly recommend.

I have no words.

Something to keep in mind for 2025 Written by James Miller of A Small Fiction

Spent today with the nephew and niece, and it was more wonderful than expected. A good start to the new year.

Lots of great tips here.

Happy New Year! I'm going to hold on tight to friends and family, and try to be more consistently kind with others, as we are all under siege this year (some of us in profound ways). It's going to be hard, but my wish for all of us is a 2025 of joy, success, and peace.

Farewell, 2024. You were a very mixed year with great highs and terrible lows. A year in other words. Let’s make 2025 a great one. 🖖🏻

A decent man is a rare thing. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024...

This is a good day to share one of my favorite TED videos. A chat about being grateful that really got me thinking. 🖖🏻

I sign out for the year and this happened!

Well, I think this is a good time of year to put social media away for a little and cherish the moments as best one can. So until next year, happy holidays. 🖖🏻

When I heard this on the radio this morning, I figured I must have somehow flipped over to something from the Onion. We surely wouldn’t… Truly disturbing.

I don’t know when my old elementary school changed from bus numbers to animals, but kid me would have really appreciated that. Bus numbers and substitute bus numbers were never fun to remember.

😂

Agreed. So much else I’d rather talk about, but this is…

I am not a generative AI fan, but since it came to iOS today, I decided to give it a try. This is what I got for “The starship Enterprise eating a donut.” No clue why I used that prompt, but the results made me giggle.

3 in and Skeleton Crew is still great. But I wonder if this will end up being a good show that could have been a great movie.

On to reading “The Teller of Small Fortunes” by Julie Leong.

Looking forward to it, but I hope this is the last we hear of S31 for a while. If we do, I'd like to see us geting back to our main characters not knowing about it and them not being happy when they find out. Maybe even going all Sisko/Bashir trying to take them down.

Reading a lot of the insurance stories here and elsewhere. If you haven’t and are in a good mental place, you should. 🖖🏻
