For those following the story of unidentified men violently dragging a protester from a local Idaho GOP meeting, it turns out they were from a private security firm called LEAR Asset Management. But neither the sheriff (who watched it all go down) or the GOP will take responsibility for hiring them.

There is no better analyst of what is happening in politics, in the GOP, in the pro-democracy movement, and in the media than @sarahlongwell25.bsky.social. Please watch, consider and share. youtu.be/GyleOTPeEHs

I thought the drama was going to between Trump and Elon. But I guess it’s not surprising that the agency heads Trump appointed - who ostensibly want to have some amount of power - will be the ones pushing back on Elon’s shit — essentially saying “I should be the one to destroy it, not that asshole!”

One of my best friends is from a sleepy, wealthy small town in the south-west of Germany. He said, so many of my parents’ neighbours are rich and bored, with little to complain about, and they’ve radicalised themselves at dinner parties and online. In their aimlessness, they’ve bonded over hate.

i think this is basically what has happened a big chunk of the american pundit class

Today’s Oaxaca, Mexico wall art. The world understands.

Gregg is a former Marine and Forest Service ranger. He's saved the lives of hikers dangling off a cliff or going through cardiac arrest, and he's bravely fought forest fires to save small rural towns. 100% of his salary is paid by WA state. Elon fired him. Share his story.

$200 million taxpayer dollars spent on “tell me I’m pretty” ads to stroke his own ego, while he fires people to “save money.” Sociopathic.

I am proud that my law firm is currently litigation 48 voting and election cases in 18 states.

New — I wrote about how the 5 bullets email is nothing but an escalation of Musk and the Trump administration’s psychological war on federal workers. Read here:

Dear Dems. This is a reminder that Donald Trump rescinded the ethics rules preventing gifts to executive branch employees. Now would be a good time to propose legislation formalizing the prevention into a law Time to do things that make him react to you. apnews.com/article/trum...

“More than a quarter of the contracts listed by DOGE were actually already paid, the Journal found, saving no money. For instance, DOGE listed $168,000 in savings for terminating a contract with HHS for an Anthony Fauci museum exhibit. It had already been fully paid.” Beyond parody.

Sending an email to employees asking them to list five things they did that week is a classic move from a manager who has no idea how to manage

In case anyone still had illusion that ADL was a good faith anti-racism or pro-democracy organization. Unfortunately, most of liberal establishment, including Democratic Party, relies heavily on ADL for its information on antisemitism, the far right, and racism (notably in Congressional hearings).

By accepting Trump’s anti-Black premise and regurgitating the narrative that equates anything Black as DEI, the NY Times has become part of the propaganda machine

NEW Here is the full email that Musk/OPM is sending to 2 million federal employees. Subject line: What did you do last week? Musk claimed on X that failure to reply would be considered a resignation, but that is not mentioned in the email.

This is such condescending BS.

"It makes me sick to think of him profiting from such vile hate.”

Also if you feel strongly about Eric Adams, you should call your city councilmember to express that and ask for their position. You’d be surprised. Hochul’s stance is highly disappointing but it doesn’t come from nowhere. Press all your electeds. City elections are in 5 months. Ask candidates too.

They continue to tell this debunked lie 🤥 for a reason: so when they cut social security to pave the way for their tax cuts for the rich you think they had an actual reason to do it.

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

Trump cut travel funding for our scientists to work on the next global climate change report (IPCC). I don't think it's legal for him to tell scientists they can't work with the IPCC. Either way, do not comply. Why keep your job if you can't actually do the job? www.cnn.com/2025/02/21/c...

I'm glad that this story has been picked up by national and international outlets. One local outlet, D Magazine, has also highlighted the report. The rest of the mainstream news outlets in Dallas have not. Perhaps I'm being impatient but I must admit I'm confused as to why they've yet to pick it up.

“The United States has threatened to cut off Ukraine's access to Starlink satellite internet terminals if Kyiv does not reach a deal with the U.S. regarding critical mineral resources, Reuters reported on Feb. 21, citing three sources familiar with the negotiations.”

The head of PGMOL was on Sky Sports five days ago. Five days. He said Lewis-Skelly’s wrongful red card at Wolves COULD NOT be overturned because VAR ‘does not want to re referee the game.’ So why has this policy been totally 180d within five days?

I literally reported this Wednesday.

CFPB was created to stop big banks & lenders from ripping us off in the wake of the foreclosure crisis. Rent & home prices are unaffordable and skyrocketing. College costs are an all-time high. Junk fees are out of control. The worst possible moment to gut the watchdog protecting our pocketbooks.

There’s not a word in this story about the corrupt nature of this dismissal. Not a concern voiced, not a question raised, not even an acknowledgment that he’s the president’s biggest donor and he’s acting as an unelected, unconfirmed tyro wielding unchecked power over spending and the civil service.

UPDATE: Meta is continuing to censor anti-Musk ads. It has removed a Facebook ad calling for a boycott of Tesla, saying that it violates the company's policy on "unacceptable business practices" muskwatch.com/subscribe

The language that mainstream media use to refer to anti-democratic and imperialist behavior and policies of Trump 2.0 shows most clearly that they are mainly an instrument of power rather than a check on it.
