I’m hearing it’s coming down to turnout among working class bishops in the critical Warsaw Archdiocese.

That KC chiefs hat is a distraction from the real issue: the Eagles were up 34-0 at one point.

We could: -yell at him in the Oval Office -impose 134% tariffs -Visit the country without asking and make noises about invading -impose military basis through coercion Or literally any of the other bullshit they have done to other countries in the past 90 days.

40% of Americans saying he should deport people *despite a court order* is a full-on crisis in civic education.

DM: suddenly an owlbear emerges from the forest and charges towards your party. What do you do? Trump: I roll a D20 to impose reciprocal tariffs. Gerry: “That’s not how tariffs work”

I certainly enjoy living in a richer world! But the outcomes politically seem incredibly volatile.
comment in response to post
“If a policy leads to 10% more for the rich and 2% more for the poor then I would certainly vote up” The political economy of this is why we are where we are. The 10% gain at the top for ~45 years has led to more power centralization and, ironically, more regressive taxation.

I really think we need a more generous Pell Grant for trades. Even forgiveness. The late career ROI isn’t as good as higher ed so we need to figure out how to compensate.

Exactly. There is already a shortage. Because the dudes with the HS degrees aren’t doing this now. If they did they would have a job in a minute.
comment in response to post
And then the people with HS degrees would have to what? Using their coding skills to fix the robot screw machine? HVAC repair? It really was insane word salad.

Do any American sellers have any input costs from tariffed countries? Asking for a small business owner with input costs from tariffed countries.

Is that gif the money they spent on inauguration or the bribes they will promise now?
comment in response to post
Oh no! Combined with a 34% tariff on “not getting that this is a joke,” bluesky will be devastated!

Let's not forget that Elon isn't all that good at predicting social trends a month into the future. So maybe let's not put much stock on what he thinks will happen in hundreds of years.

We stand at the shores of destiny, lifted by the grace of God, at the crossroads of roads and against the bastion of liberalism to declare that APT is not that catchy.

Replace “USAID” with “farm subsidies” or “rural programs” and let’s see how well this goes over in a fews years.

Also worth noting that other autocracies where poorer and mostly fine. USSR wasn't some kind of universal hellscape. It was just a place with a more subsistence farming than it ought to have had and worse industrial output.
