@oaklandside.bsky.social You keep missing major protests - the one Monday moving from Fruitvale to Lake Merritt, and the one last night against Hakeem Jeffries Your covering these protests would help make what we do matter, rather than irrelevant

Exactly. Musk is an evil, sociopathic piece of shit, to be sure, but he’s also bone-stupid. Extraordinarily dumb. Like Trump, his main superpower is shamelessness to an almost surreal level.

true that he's not simply a conservative - bastard's a goddamned nazi

the nyt is, as Bill Hicks put it, "sucking satan's pecker"

Guy who doesn’t even respond to the mothers of his children: reply to my email or you’re fired

basically the route I've taken. it can be done. it's actually better than the middle-class life

And we got finger-wagged by a New England journo "expert" for not staying in our lane and sticking to our knitting (his words) and leaving hard stuff to (paywalled) NYT and Wapo. So we were right, and we did the right thing, and we didn't need anyone's permission to make our own news decisions.

remember how Bernie was too old in 2016? lmfao

The stage of capitalism where companies advertise on a Nazi porn site for fear of government reprisal. gizmodo.com/it-sure-look...

this the sort of shit that dark-age europeans did

he loves that they're death machines

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

the core problem of the u.s. is that it's an unholy alliance of vastly different cultures which results in internalized imperialism, groups grasping for tyranny over the other cultures, terror of being the subjugated

I think it would make a big difference in our health if we banned Pharma ads from America like the rest of the world does.

UPDATE: Meta is continuing to censor anti-Musk ads. It has removed a Facebook ad calling for a boycott of Tesla, saying that it violates the company's policy on "unacceptable business practices" muskwatch.com/subscribe

Uhhhhhh www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

There will be almost nothing left of the Constitution by 2028. It will be interesting to see whether the Democratic attitude leans more toward restoring it or governing beyond it. Case in point: the Electoral College. Maybe it's time we got serious about ditching this stupid idea for good.

always nice to see the Tick vindicated

On Wednesday I was the first to report Leland Dudek was on the verge of losing his job at the Social Security Administration when he was suddenly promoted to acting commissioner by Elon Musk. Thursday I published a story with more details. I’ll let you guess if I got any credit in this Post story:

when construction tanks, it usually means the economy is right behind

If a media outlet can't call a Nazi salute a Nazi salute, we can't rely on them as a credible source of news. There's no ambiguity. It's a very distinct arm movement. People don't accidentally move their arms like that, ever.

Republican events for a month now (including Inauguration Day!) have featured a prominent Nazi salute & legacy media outlets ignore it. Seems like a trend worth covering, no? Maybe access to the Nazi party shouldn't be prioritized??

Sandoval, an openly pro-immigrant and progressive Democrat, won in a traditionally Republican town. www.koco.com/article/elec...

You have to scroll to the bottom, but it is worth reviewing the list of the minerals they chose to mention (I am sure there are a lot more not listed) Do not forget that this extraction locks in unimaginable and unnecessary environmental devastation, as it does in every continent right now

dealing with the pain of women being right to leave the person I am I'm not a bad person, but I am a bad choice for a relationship gotta face that, deal with it, let go of the hurt

A tech company with links to DOGE is expanding its health footprint — in the U.S., internationally, and maybe in Canada. You'll want to know about this.

JEFFRIES: “we have no leverage” SCHUMER: *pulls out a lime and limply waves it around* BERNIE:

In the depths of the Nebraskan winter, 2400 people came out to listen to Bernie Sanders in Omaha last night. 800 had to be turned away at the door. Over 190,000 tuned into the livestream. There is a movement to be harnessed here. @sanders.senate.gov (📸 Anna Bahr)

NEW: Public health teams are being gutted by Trump's purge of federal employees, imperiling crucial, lifesaving work. "We are hollowing out our government in a way that is going to hurt people and is going to get people killed." w/ @deldeib.bsky.social: www.propublica.org/article/trum...

Every $1 spent on IRS audits of the very rich tax recovers $6.3 in revenue

DOGE is getting a whole lot of headlines mainly because our brains aren't wired to make sense of millions, billions, or trillions of dollars. Lemme help: Math out the DOGE numbers and you'll discover that your DOGE dividend may buy you a coffee or two. The problem: There's just not that much waste.

we're paying musk to destroy us

Two of the absolute worst guys. They bear a ton of responsibility for the democratic backsliding that Wisconsin experienced.

He wants Elon to hurt more people, even as his poll numbers are down not up: www.instagram.com/reel/DGTS6V4... There’s a book about leaders counting on the truth not reaching their supporters. It’s called ‘1984’ — forget “Truth Social”, it’s “Ministry of Truth Social”

Morning Bluesky. Even the French Far Right are appalled by the rise of the Nazis in America.

when trump said Zelenskyy was a dictator who was at risk of losing his country if he doesn't move quickly he was again projecting

can't this weekend: inventing an alternative - probably better, really - version of starlink for ukraine to use instead
