My son is the same except he’s the opposite of a yuppie — I try to get him to eat all sorts of foods but he primarily wants red baron pepperoni pizzas. 🤷‍♂️

Yes there are a number of ways to do the redirect, the point again is that an HTTP to HTTPS redirect isn't something that necessarily /should/ always happen (even if it should in almost all cases), and isn't on its own an indicator that something is broken.

Yes and HTTPS is the correct and best solution to use almost always, the point I was making originally was in reference to an HTTP to HTTPS redirect "supposing" to happen, which isn't necessarily true and in some cases HTTP may be chosen for reasons that might not put a premium on end-user security.

And browsers do indeed, correctly, tell you that a site isn't secure (because it isn't), but not everything needs to be secured.

I am not wrong, and the linked article stating "if you think youre smart enough to not use HTTPS everywhere youre wrong" is usually right. However, the site in question here is an ideal example of a site that gains no real benefit from HTTPS protection.

redirecting from http to https is a decision made by the application owner and isn't necessarily something that should happen automatically. there are good reasons for either option, in cases of sites that have no login or user information storage, HTTP availability offers better accessibility

If there’s only one business in a segment this makes sense, but if you have 10 auto manufacturers that improve ads to the point that the market is saturated, they won’t stop improving ads because now they need to capture market share from the other 9 manufacturers.

This is something you can do yourself fairly easily if you own the lawdork.com domain and can manage its DNS: bsky.social/about/blog/4... It looks more intimidating than it is, but if you'd like help or have questions feel free to DM me!

I've read that they are threatening federal employees with litigation to discourage disclosing that (very public now) information as well -- isn't it against the law for the government to threaten or disrupt the free speech of citizens, whether they're federal employees or not?

I agree, I think any minor victory (e.g. the Mexico tariffs canceled because of promises of Mexican border troops) is going to be used to keep good will among the right's base, regardless of the actual terrible cost and true purpose of the tariffs.

I don’t do that but I love after-AppleJacks milk so much that I once emptied a bit of milk out of a gallon jug, funneled a whole box of AppleJacks in and let it sit overnight. I strained it and had a container of AppleJacks milk for like a week. I’m uncertain of any food safety implications

100 percent agree but can we also do the opposite of this for all the people making mobile games where you're like walking along with a gun shooting bad guys and getting multipliers? Related: I've never felt less like a mob boss than when i was a level 99 mob boss.
