My stepmother had MND/ALS, had a death with dignity in 2021. She was an engineer and while she still could she did us a PowerPoint about how it would all go down, which drugs would do what etc. It was beyond surreal and wouldn't wish the experience on anyone but Christ I'm glad she had the option.

I'm so glad you're here, but I'll be honest, I had to take a break from your podcast (and others) for about a week after E Day as I realised I'd echo-chambered myself. Could not fathom a Harris loss. Lesson learned, back among The Mighty but a bit more jaded.

I love Wilco but what I love even more is a mystery and the one currently on my mind is what your Invalid Handle could possibly be...

Whereas my husband, who has aphantasia, would have no clue. Married for 10yrs before we found out he had it, would have saved a lot of arguments had I known sooner!

Grew up in the States but now live in the UK and understanding how people can go 'no-contact' with someone (in this case it's a country). Loved ones still there and my kids also have citizenship but part of me is like 'America, sort your shit out and then maybe we'll talk'.

This is like when I saw Hollow Man in the cinema, and the screen went dark in the last few minutes - we could hear some big fight scene happening, bombs going off etc but no one could tell what was going on.

My plea to reporters is to not call it the Department of Government Efficiency. It is not a Department. It is almost certainly going to a Federal Advisory Committee, and it is very important that reporters accurately convey that Vivek and Elon are working on an advisory committee.

The amazing @jambeanie.bsky.social runs a Christmas Book Swap here in the UK where you're paired up with a random person and you discuss your favourite books and then buy one for each other. Wrapped up lovely and Christmas-y and only to be opened on Christmas Eve.

Imma jump in, ask a question, then duck. Suggestions for a horror movie fan (creepy, not gore-porn) who isn't into shoot-y things and who's last gaming experience was Atari?

This is a great list, like when Christmas catalogs were a thing and you'd keep turning the pages and being like 'I want that! And that! Ooh that too!'.

I'm re-reading On the Beach by Nevil Shute (can't imagine why...)

My 10yo son saw this pic just now and said 'I bet they have really fun birthday parties' weird observation but I'm guessing probably true!
