Its terrible if you go the China route of cameras everywhere. But a few portable cameras to encourage a behavior change works in other countries. And reduces the discrimation that you get from police officers choosing which drivers to ticket.

It would be a good revenue source for cities if they put cameras at pedestrian crossings and issued fines to those drivers who don't stop.

Killing pathogens would be a minor thing evolution could adapt to. Pressure would also impact insect flight, thus pollination; weather patterns; osmosis at the celular level; etc.

They don't own an exclusive property right like private land. But the granting of usage right over public land to a sub group of the public is giving that group an implied ownership of a property right. If the sidewalk was removed to widen a road, pedestrians would claim it is being stolen.

It is taking the use of the spaces from them without their consent, so akin to stealing and a valid argument. But it is a role of government to manage the conflicting uses and users of public land.

The math let them predict the future position of stars and planets, so people would offer to pay for predictions of their future. Taking the money and making up vague nonsense became a cash cow that attracted more charletons to the industry. Eventually the purists had to rebrand as astronomers.
