I will say what I said repeatedly during the campaign: People had legitimate questions about Biden/Harris. Donald Trump was always the wrong answer.

Its going to be the common folk rising up thats going to take this Administration down. We all have power if we stick together and fight together. We just have to get out and do it.

You know? I still find it remarkably easy to remain patriotic throughout this administration. Trump and the MAGA crowd are a repudiation of every single civic ideal that the United States is meant to represent—and I see no reason to stop believing in those ideals because of them.

The GOP in Congress is not going to wake up and save us suddenly. They are complicit and enabling, working overtime to rewrite the Constitution without a single vote from the people. They aren’t conserving democracy—they’re dismantling it in real-time, in front of our eyes. #Resist!

Bernie Sanders: "The struggle against Trump, the struggle against oligarchy, which is led by Elon Musk ... that's not gonna be won here in Capitol Hill. It's gonna be won by millions of people all over this country standing up and saying, 'we fought and died for democracy.'"

It’s not about “government efficiency.” It’s about autocratic power.

Reagan associate counsel: Congress has not authorized this radical overhaul, and the protocols of the Constitution do not permit statutorily mandated agencies and programs to be transformed—or reorganized out of existence—without congressional authorization. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...

I dug into the only US source cited by Randy Barnett & Ilan Wurman for their theory - against birthright citizenship - in @nytimes @nytopinion: Edward Bates in 1862. He doubly contradicted their argument: "Birthright Citizenship: The Bates Backfire" shugerblogcom.wordpress.com/2025/02/16/b...

Podcasts have become an amazing way to spread dumb ideas to guys who don't read. It used to be they'd have to watch a dumb documentary or be friends with a loud dumb guy. Now they can all get blasted with tradcon nonsense in their cars

I feel like I'm going insane every time I see a media story about DOGE that doesn't also mention the fact that the Government Accountability Office exists and performs the exact function that DOGE pretends to, only in a credibly constitutional, non-partisan, and conflict-of-interest-free manner

These dorks who’ve played Metternich in wargames think that they’re doing a super clever great power realpolitik, letting Russia absorb Ukraine while planning to absorb Canada, Greenland, and Panama. They’ve convinced themselves that instead of doing a Munich… they’re doing a Molotov-Ribbentrop.

If you thought it wasn’t possible—well, here we are. Musk pulled $80 million in funding authorized by Congress straight from NYC’s bank account. The federal government took the funds and called it a “clawback” of taxpayer money. A lot of others would simply call it stealing.

Two billionaires who have zero concept of what the federal workforce does are breaking the American government—decimating essential services and leaving all of us worse off. Millions of Americans rely on the services: health care, food safety, lifesaving research, and more.

Mike Pence just reposted an old article he wrote about the limitations on the powers of a president. For some reason. Here is a part of it.

Where you at Dems ? You fighting to get them far better severance or going to ignore them, and all others in similar circumstances?

I can’t say I’ve thought about inflation that much since the US Attorney in the district you and I both live in had to resign because the President wanted to make a corrupt deal with the Mayor, backed by the threat of a dangling DOJ prosecution, to terrorize immigrants and people of color here.

People on X are calling for AOC's arrest for posting this.... so I am posting it everywhere!

This is the white trash administration ...full of conspiracy theories and uneducated ideas.

i am going to put a finer point on this: executive orders are not laws. and they certainly are not royal decrees. they are interpretations of existing law for the purposes of enforcement. the fact that so many people are treating them as laws is actually driving me a bit insane.

Article I, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution: “The Congress shall have the power … To coin money, regulate the value thereof, and of foreign coin, and fix the standard of weights and measures.” The key words there are “The Congress.”

John Roberts and other fox news granpas have themselves to thank for Trump toadies flirting with ignoring court orders www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

I realized today that Trump, Musk, DOGE, Vance, Miller, Vought and their many collaborators have broken so many laws already that they know they have to destroy our government and entire way of life to stay out of jail. This is all or nothing. We should respond accordingly.

So what is the point of Congress under this new regime?

DOGE doesn’t have authority to do anything or even exist but the point of the whole thing is to make an argument for you to pay more in taxes and for rich folks to pay less

removal of Musk's goons from GSA and Treasury's payment system and appointment of an independent prosecutor that Trump can't fire to investigate what happened should be the table stakes for any Dem votes on the budget or debt ceiling. Should get more than that, but that's a bare minimum.

SCOOP: A US Treasury threat intelligence analysis has designated DOGE staff an ‘insider threat'. An internal email reviewed by WIRED calls DOGE staff's access to federal payments systems “the single biggest insider threat risk the Bureau of the Fiscal Service has ever faced.”

An unelected billionaire is illegally seizing control of the US government apparatus and carrying out a flurry of crimes as part of an unprecedented authoritarian power grab that directly violates several laws and the US Constitution. Say it plainly. It’s fact.

So did anyone see this whole Musk thing coming? I want to know.

Today I confronted Speaker Johnson over Elon Musk's hostile takeover of the federal government because the American people deserve answers about how their private data is being used. If Republicans don't want to give me a seat at the table, I'll bring my own chair.

I remember when Charles Manson opened the throttle on blowing through apparent legal limits, often with no clear public explanation for how his actions could be consistent with the rule of law.

I'm asking for Members of Congress to stand up for the constitutional order in plain language. These are high crimes and misdemeanors. And it needs to be said.
