Your *visuals* were such a delight! What a fun night. Thank you 🖤💖

Democratic governors, mayors and city councils need to coordinate with their National Guard and local law enforcement leaders NOW. Make sure you have people you trust in place NOW. Fascists are going to strip your power or arrest you if you're not prepared to resist.

It's also the day for my favorite meme! If this aging Klingon warrior can get it right, so can anyone.

To get a real sense of it, I'd urge you to watch the raw video with the sound on. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-fS...

Now they’re disappearing visa holders too. Int’l student scooped up, ostensibly for her political views, on her way to dinner. Masked agents. Student visa revoked without input from or warning to her university. No charges filed, no way for her lawyer to contact her. apnews.com/article/tuft...

Translation: “the COVID-19 pandemic is (still) politically inconvenient, so we’ll do everything within our power to pretend it’s over.”

It's critical for everyone to remember what an Executive Order is. It is the President communicating orders to members of the executive branch. Policies to pursue, actions to take, etc. They are not laws. They are not close to being laws. They are formalized memos to employees. That's all.

The institutions of the American economy depend on the institutions of American democracy; rule of law, consistent regulation, stability, and all the rest. That’s what’s being destroyed and that’s what risks the *entire economy. Saying that out loud shouldn’t (and can’t) be a risk

@alt18f.bsky.social saved taxpayers billions, modernized digital services, and made government work better. 💡Now, DOGE has shut it down—eliminating projects that served voters, refugees, military personnel, and more. Read about 18F’s impact ⬇️ 🔗 www.wethebuilders.org/posts/what-i... #altgov #18f

Anyone find it funny how when the UK releases the Cass review to ban trans care, we get everything ranging from New York Times push notifs to op-eds in every major US paper... But when Germany, Switzerland, and Austria release pro-trans youth care guidelines, not a single article anywhere but mine?

And let’s not forget this administration’s first “Friday Night Massacre:” Illegally firing 17 inspectors general. The first week.

Meanwhile, ongoing since Sunday 😣 aje.io/d4xf5t

Step 1: Force out the staff doing technology modernization work. Step 2: Note the shortage of staff qualified to do this critical work. Step 3: Profit. www.cnn.com/2025/03/03/p...

Why should you care about the federal court in Amarillo, Texas? Because its sole judge makes decisions that affect the entire country, like banning medication abortion. Here’s what you need to know about “judge shopping”:

Not only did their replacements not pass hiring screens, they LAUNCHED A .GOV SITE WITH A PUBLICLY WRITABLE DATABASE. Which is a stunningly rookie move. ❌ www.404media.co/anyone-can-p...

ok, cis folks—if you said you'd stand with trans folks, it's time. S.9 is the senate's sports ban bill—a big step to making trump’s executive order a federal law, which is much harder to undo. it can be stopped *monday.* short call scripts for dem & GOP senators ⬇️🧵 legiscan.com/US/bill/SB9/...

This is a good thread. 💚

They justified this Tennessee drag ban using a legal designation: "harmful to minors" They justified book ban / library purges with "harmful to minors" Now they're using "harmful to minors" to push age-verification bills to censor the internet. Understand the connection. Fight them all.

History is repeating itself. There were more LGBTQ people removed from government during the lavender scare than were suspected communists during the red scare. They only really taught the latter in history classes. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lavende...

THEY'RE GOING TO ISSUE PERMANENT VISA BANS TO TRANS VISITORS TO THE US. This isn't just for athletes. The directive as stated applies to all visa applications made by trans folks and declare it material fraud to use a different gender marker on applications. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

Generally when you are othering and scapegoating various groups you want to be careful to keep them turned against each other as well. They’ve opened up too many fronts with broad “DEI” purges. Reminding us we have more to gain with solidarity and much to lose by not standing back to back.

If you’re going to do this then you’d better be real comfortable with people yelling at you in restaurants because if you don’t give them an official place to do it, they’re just going to find unofficial ones

The way we're already pricing in authoritarianism is very, very bad. Trump is using his power as president to openly retaliate against a law firm for representing Jack Smith and it's barely news. The signal this sends is chilling to anyone who would oppose him. What else will he do to his opponents?

What's the point of being rich if you can't afford to do the right thing.

I will say again: The destruction of the CFPB—an agency that has brought in $20 billion over a little more than a decade despite having an annual budget that's less than what DOD has spent so far today—is the clearest sign none of this has anything to do with saving taxpayers money.

hey for anyone who might want to actually own their kindle books instead of renting them, or who might be thinking of switching to kobo etc and will want to convert them to epubs, you now only have one week before amazon kills your ability to download its ebooks www.theverge.com/news/612898/...

The measles outbreak in Texas is reminding me of the public letter Roald Dahl wrote about losing his daughter to measles in 1962, just before the vaccine was publicly available.

A new North Dakota bill would require stores to pull any book with any "material harmful to minors" from the shelves. For those in the cheap seats, that effectively means ANY mention of sex, sexuality or gender. A bookseller could be arrested for displaying 1984. www.inforum.com/opinion/colu...

If someone won’t resist or reject a terrible request when it’s relatively easy, they will not do so when it’s difficult.

AHEM.

Creative resistance — and fundraising for trans lives — from some of the feds whose department became DOGE: www.customink.com/fundraising/...

Yes. Culture strike.

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Thank you for taking initiative and for being public about it!
