Great job on Piers. The only thing is that this was the rich's plan since the 70s. Lewis Powell wrote a memo to the chamber of commerce to enact a corporate takeover US government and was rewarded with a seat on the Supreme Court. Elon is now intentionally rigging the rules to increase his wealth.

Oh, so this is "Don't look up." I guess the people who voted for the asteroid 2024 are the real winners here.

Couldn't have done this in the first 3 years?

It takes a lot of resources just to set up a volunteer and education program. I have worked as a volunteer for a democratic club, and it is very hard to set up these things. Charity only does so much unless there is some sort of natural disaster.

I'm not bullshitting you. I saw the stipend part. Look, I think if you could do it, it would be a good thing. With the current structure of our society, I think it will be very difficult unless you create a foundation that gets funded as a 501c3.

Yeah, people are not just going to give you resources without something in return. We live in America.

I have looked into MMT. It is an interesting idea as taxes don't directly fund spending. The government can spend as needed since they issue their own currency.

I read it twice. The logistics of getting people what they need with who has it will cost a lot in administration costs. Even if volunteers are doing the bulk of the work. Someone will need to be paid to manage it. The best way would be to form a non-profit and organize from there.

I read what you proposed, I don't think it can work like that. It is essentially working as a foundation. The funding is going to be the problem. Is this going to be a 501c3? You're going to need millions for it to work as a proof on concept.

There won't be an increase in supply unless it is a massive all-encompassing system. The barrier to entry in most sectors will not change with a UBI. Again, healthcare and rent will suck up that money increasing cost. Supply would not increase for either with UBI.

The first part is true. That is why a UBI would increase demand, causing inflation. I am not sure what you are referring to when it comes to exergy. I think that is an engineering term. Also, I'm not sure what Barayin is.

That money will just go to healthcare and rent costs, continuing to drive prices up for both. We need to have a universal healthcare system before a UBI.

We don't have any power or social cohesion. We need to first build a left movement before anything changes. The next four years can provide the opportunity to do so.
comment in response to post
Just to be clear, UBI will not work unless a universal healthcare system and rent protections are put in place. The money would just get sucked up by healthcare and rent, leaving everyone in the same spot.

I don't think we are there yet. We are the world's hegemon, and the left has little to bo power. The thing we need to do is gain power, and then maybe we can claw back the oligarchy.

He will be lucky to make it through the term. He is old, unhealthy, and out of shape. We saw how much Biden declined in the last 4 years, and he is relatively healthy. Imagine how much Trump will decline.

About 2 years, I doubt he makes it to 82.

He doesn't care. It seems like what he wants is retribution to China. Maybe they copied his product and made more money. He wants it to cost more to produce in China so he can move his production to Laos or another SE Asian country. It always seems personal with him.

I was hoping for at least some cool spacestation that I could visit or maybe a moon base. That would have been cool.

It seems like, in every role you play that has a coffee cup, that it is completely full. Is that movie magic or your acting skills?

It is kind of interesting to see that her transphobia has become a defining characteristic. It isn't like she could do something to change the lives of millions of people.

No Elf? Especially at this time of year.

That has always been their goal ever since Lewis Powell wrote the infamous memo to the chamber of commerce in the 70s. They are going to carve out the federal government to the highest bidder.

If you have not seen the classic Chinatown, it is definitely worth a watch.
