for approximately one hour during one of the Columbia crises, when NYPD was called to quell a sit-in, I watched Fox News coverage which was 100% anti-Palestinian; assuming that this entirely anti-Palestinian/ pro-Israel coverage was nonstop at Fox. of course T***p would have been watching.

in my entire lifetime as an academic I think I'd met just one "Maoist"--decades ago in Windsor, Ontario. this was a pretend-Maoist: he didn't believe in communist notions like sharing property or favoring the proletariat; he wanted a higher salary for himself, not others. & yes, he was a US citizen.

probably biochemical--a condition. it is helpful to think of such people as lacking powers of choice, volition. they lash out at others like rabid creatures. but just as elders developing senility do not choose their condition, so these persons are not to "blame"--literally. but--best to flee.

sorry to use a morbid sort of metaphor but if/when cancer metastasizes, it may be too late to treat. early stages may be relatively easy to treat. so too with our political situation: it feels like stage 4. back in 2016 many commentators were forecasting this, like Sarah Kendzior, but few listened.
