I'm no expert on law, but it seems simple to me. If you can deprive ANYONE of due process, then you can deprive EVERYONE of due process.

How can anyone take someone like this seriously?

Nice to see you on bluesky. Please consider updating your handle to @vivaldi.com to prove it's you! bsky.social/about/blog/4...

Vivaldi is arguably the closest you'll get to a Proton Browser at the moment. A focus on privacy, EU based, and it even includes the free tier of Proton VPN built in. vivaldi.com @vivaldibrowser.bsky.social

I've recently converted from using apple keychain/safari. Really happy with Proton. So much so I got Proton Unlimited. Highly recommended.

This is so true. I think the same can be said for going to bed early/on time as well.

This is the administration that removes university funding because they allow protests, or suggests calling for due process can make you a terrorist. Sorry USA you've lost any moral high ground to start lecturing other countries about free speech!
comment in response to post
And this is the administration pontificating about free speech in the UK?!

So much bullshit from RFK Jr it's hard to know where to start. But I'll start here: I know many software developers who are on the autistic spectrum. They earn a lot of money and pay a lot of taxes.

RFK Jr is an absolute fucking moron. What on earth is he talking about? I thought we were WELL past the point of everyone thinking someone having ASD implies they're Rain Man.

Yes, but surely you're forgetting the time he wore a bike helmet! Oh my goodness. www.youtube.com/watch?v=timv...

DOGE appears to be operating at the intellectual level of cancelling your mortgage payments to save yourself some money.

What Trump and Musk mean by free speech is the right for their tech companies to profile users and push extreme, divisive and untrue content in a way they know will steer user behaviour to their benefit. postx.bearblog.dev/understandin...

The neoliberals' beloved invisible hand of the efficient market.

Reminds me of the time the genius asked all twitter employees to print out their code. Followed by a request to stop printing a couple of hours later - presumably because the printers had run out of paper. (Or perhaps he'd been informed what a moronic request it was on many levels.)

Now is a good time to get people to jump from Meta's WhatsApp to @signal.org! Might as well make the most of the publicity.

Interesting observation. Do you have any sources to back this up?

Musk has shown time and time again he wants to control speech. He does not care about free speech (obviously overlooking the fact that it's an ambiguous, vacuous term in the first place).

So, because crime exists, no one should be entitled to due process? Is that really his position?

June 2016: Nigel Farage hopes Brexit victory will bring down the whole 'failed project' of the EU. Nearly ten years later it's becoming clearer that it's the isolationist project which has failed.

Couldn't agree more. This is the politics of destruction.

Reminds me of the old saying: if everywhere you go stinks of shit, check your own shoes.

I choose Bluesky because whilst it is superficially similar to twitter, being built on the open, decentralised AT protocol makes it fundamentally different.

Well that aged like a White Russian.

Just like his position on “free speech”.

Indeed, it's the so called free market that these neoliberals have championed for decades.

"Illegally boycott" 😁 That's right - you have a legal obligation to buy Tesla! What ever happened to the all knowing, all powerful invisible hand of the efficient market that neoliberals have championed for decades?!
