Young men don't open bank accounts. They are too expensive. They download coin base or Robinhood app and buy crypto. That's their savings
If one party pushes that number higher. They vote for em. Gensler/Biden caused those savings to go down. The demo with the biggest change was young men

This is legit the dumbest thing I've ever seen him say

So you are covered, albeit not to the extent traditional banks are.
Says it right there on their website.
https://help.chime.com/hc/en-us/art...
Even my Checking account only requires 250 a month in direct deposits - no fees w/ that minimum
Use local banks. They don’t have fees.
And is the solution to a fake problem investing in volatile crypto?
There are other options that are completely free with like a minimum $100 balance.
https://www.bankofamerica.com/deposits/savings/savings-accounts/
But CapitalOne or Schwab are not exactly 'off the beaten track'. Both have completely free checking. As do a whole bunch of primarily online banks like Sofi.
We're talking about folks clearly comfortable w online banks
I have multiple accounts with multiple banks and credit unions and none of them charge me fees unless I dip into overdraft.
It doesn't seem like a lot but In the time I was the most broke, it hurt a lot every month
https://www.americanexpress.com/en-us/banking/online-savings/high-yield-savings-account/
If someone is fucking around with Crypto they're smart / interested enough to learn how to open an HYSA that wont rug pull them.
Young men open Robinhood and coinbase accounts because they are promised the opportunity to get rich without doing work, the same reason they open draftkings and FanDuel accounts.
Please explain why cryptocurrency has a value other than someone saying it has value.
It really doesn’t need to exist, except to take real money from people like you.
The wealth class didn’t have any more real assets to manipulate.
Non-custodial.
Instant transfers across any borders.
The fact that you can't see the benefits of decentralized and fully auditable transactions is why you will remain a pleb.
Cave dwellers that thought the internet was a faze.
At best, crypto is a wildly speculative play that has zero inherent utility and assumes that the greater fool theory will always be an option. At worst…it’s a digital Beanie Baby. Only at least Beanie Babies have some inherent value as stuffed animals for little kids.
There's no speculation with stablecoins. Just better utility.
And, no, I am not a boomer.
Also, bank accounts are free (as long as you maintain something like a minimum balance of $100)
Young men voted for Trump because of bat shit right wing propaganda polluting social media and the MSM.
I think it is fairly expensive to buy an established bank.
I didn't check Robinhood yet.
I was still agape over coinbase accepting apple pay (because let's be honest, these 18 year olds are on their parents accounts still) and then Google was like "but wait, here's something even worse!"
I have multiple credit union accounts, never pay fees for literally anything.
There are smaller banks that do the same. And all FDIC/NCUA insured.
Crypto is a great way to lose a lot of money fast.
I block every Google Shorts channel with Rogan on it, and they still pop up every day.
Fucking nightmare fuel.
You are genuinely completely out of touch. It's probably not solvable due to your wealth. You should just assume you have no idea what's going on in the world and stop commenting.
@profgalloway.com seems to have a good handle on it
What are you talking about?
Yes, most fees are avoidable.
But this plays into life choices, right? Person only works for cash, doesn't trust banks, hates the system.
Not to say there aren't predators, but you can avoid them.
3 bank accounts here. All FREE.
We all know Crypto is for the rich for milking the poor.
How can someone have so much money and be so out of touch???
you answered your own question. Cuban is a dogturd. the rich are out of touch by design and then by choice.
Enabling substandard behavior doesn’t turn a frog into a prince. It turns us all into frogs.🐸
(No offense to frogs 🐸)
Not that I think the crypto world is consciously trying to appeal to people with a propensity towards gambling, of course.
- probably said by some Barron in Holland circa 1635.
Then don’t start now - unless it’s to tell them to fuck off. Simple and an ending.
Not even 50% are free
https://www.bankrate.com/banking/checking-fees-survey/
47% is not the majority.
What planet are you living on?
crush it is a policy failure
If we need to kill ourselves to win. It’s not really a way forward.
We have to be grown ups even if these voters are not.
We can regulate and legislate controls on crypto and these people can lose all the money they want.
I don’t even know how to think about that kind of thought process.
This is the most delusional demographic in the history of the world and yet, we continue to kowtow to them instead of expecting maturity.
The enabling is the problem.

Be specific.
With a credit card? Without a bank account?
With cash? How does that work?
Sexual favors?
Come on, Mark, tell us how young men without a bank account buy crypto currency.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tulip_mania
If someone is paycheck to paycheck- a bank acct is an expense…
A checking account was only an expense when I had to buy checks. That was a long time ago.
Being poor is expensive
Interesting thesis.
Then you get to ink your body with white power tattoos.
Seriously Mark? Crypto is the biggest scam going on right now and it’s beyond telling that your stance is to push young, impressionable men into it
Credit unions, promotions, etc. allow you to open a bank account for free, savings and checking.
If Mark cares so much about the plight of the poor, why doesn’t he give most of his money away then?
How much money does one person need?
It's only being pushed as the next big thing because crypto hasn't worked out for the tech bros.
Idiot, uneducated, unskilled young men, too lazy to work dabble in crypto because it's a get rich scheme.
They don't want to work for other people. They wanna be their own boss. ... Then buy a shiny pickup & better gym membership.
Just stop.
I think that there is some use case, or there COULD be down the road, but right now there really isn't. And it's the Wild Wild West (hes right on regulation).
Young dudes are in it (if they are),for fast money.
Most people don't understand it.
This isn't banking, or the future of currency, it's gambling. Pure and simple.
Hell it's worse than gambling because you can just commit crimes!
Aside from that, regulating crypto would likely ruin the volatility that allows bubbles of growth that the bros want.
Stop drugz.
There are plenty of free online banks.
You buy crypto with what? Yeah your bank account =)
are you retarded?
Sounds like young men are just idiots who don’t “trust the institutions” 😵💫 Let’s call this what it is - dumb as hell.
People better stop getting influenced by rich people into buying and using all of the 💩 they have ownership in!
You better put your money in a bank and leave those Ponzi schemes alone!!
Try some critical thinking. Please.
I don’t know where you all are banking, but I have never paid a dime for a bank account. In fact, all of mine pay me (interest). Bank accounts are not expensive. They are free. If you are paying for one, you are an idiot.
If it’s legit, what are you afraid of?
When these scams use rich people, people claiming immediate results, & young women…it should be your 1st sign to run!
If so GREAT, EVERYONE would be using it…we’re NOT!!
Let’s grow up. 🌎
People have SHORT memories & won’t search beyond a news cycle or two.
-most big banks have predatory fee structures
-you must make a legally binding declaration as to what you do to earn money
-big banks pay laughable interest rates while pocketing the rest
-network providers all charge rates that get built into consumer costs
4 different banks over the past 9 years. Only fees are overdraft or not keeping the 500 minimum.
I'm not saying predatory banks aren't out there, but shop around next time.
someone pays those costs and it's not just loans.
Which is why they can offer free banking (assuming you know how to avoid fees). I've always assumed the fees are just gravy on top.
Here in Canada it's typically what's used, I've only had 2 jobs that didn't and they were at very tiny companies with a handful of employees years ago. A paper cheque isn't an option that most employers give under normal circumstances.
Additionally, studies show that people who watch the news shift their views toward the progressive. Other studies show young men not engaging with news content and leaning more toward short
There is so much research out there. When you look at the big picture, follow that data, there is a narrative that unfolds.
this must be the young men who dream of being crypto kings, like poor republicans who dream of being millionaires and vote for those that only prevent them from ever getting there.
And manipulative
1- they're vulnerable and are being exploited
2- they're an idiot
On an individual level I guess it's a case by case basis.
Systemically 99.9% of crypto is exploitation. It's maths.
Perhaps there's some potential in the technology somewhere - though practical examples and uptake are non-existent.
But 99.9% of crypto is trash / exploitation / gambling/ idiots/con artists.
I don't know whether the technology can do these things (in a way justifies it's existence over other methods). But I think it's valuable for serious people to innovate towards serious things.
But yeah, much Crypto has been adopted by not serious people for self enrichment cons.
I've never been charged a fee by my banks current/checking account. I have control of my money without fees.
But 'banks are too expensive' & 'Coinbase is cheap' isn't credible.
But don't unless absolutely critical. So you pay your card off every month and no interest.
The only money the husband handles is the bit of pocket money cash they're given to spend in the pub for the week.
Years later, the debt has mounted, he's not paid it off. He's not told anyone about it. The banks come calling.
Real 'men' wouldn't get into this situation. They'd be competent, not idiots.
How much does an account cost to keep open, Mark?
How much does a bank charge to use a debit card for purchases, Mark?
How much does a bank charge to use in-network ATM machines, Mark?
Do you have a bank account? Do you manage it yourself?
But yeah, these aren't the words of a financial genius. Maybe an exploitation genius.
For just one example:
Maybe spread that message? 🤷🏻
If he thinks young men are being left behind by the financial industry he COULD illuminate where they CAN get free access to banking.
He COULD create guidance for 'responsible investment'.
This isn't a fact.Then:
"Young men don't open bank accounts. They are TOO EXPENSIVE".
Besides no evidence given of lack of bank accounts, the reason isn't a fact because it's not true.
But the entirety of the context / reasons he's provided around that are just wrong.
"The moon is 384,400 kilometers away. It was put there by a tall giraffe."
Let's not credit that kind of information.
He's a little hesitant given that a lot of old MAGA voters seem to like it.
Probably happen though underneath the chaos.
https://www.ajmc.com/view/trump-reverses-some-biden-drug-pricing-initiatives-potentially-impacting-medicare-costs
"It's only a banana, Michael. What could it cost, $10?"
Reality is to many young ppl have zero financial literacy. So when you don’t pay back overdraft fees the bank closes your account. No real bank will touch you. This isn’t a party fault. It’s society’s fault
The credit union's product doesn't even allow them to overdraft. I loved that! If she went over, she'd have to plan better and try again.

Which is why I endorse all of my checks using profanity directed at Jamie Dimon
Investments are risky, but as long as the economy is doing well, they are relatively stable.
I am confused by what you are trying to say in this post.
Bank accounts for amounts under 10k are generally free.

Mark is clueless lol
#EATTHERICH
Feminine culture includes risk assessment because personal safety is taught from a young age and spills over into other areas.
Maybe that should change.
'Why isn't it affecting women? Surely someone's targetting them! We've got to save these poor men.'
I heard Emily @maitlis.bsky.social comment during a discussion w the writer of Adolescence on how the #MeToo movement seemed to move instantly to a What about the boys convo.
We need to change them together.
Many cultures ritualise it in violent or dangerous rites of passage.
It’s as much genetic and hormonal as anything else. Like behaviour changes with the menopause or periods.
This was about risk taking in general. Not rape or violence.
Society needs to change to tackle patriarchy.
I posted in response to OP tying the appeal of cryptocurrency to young men.
Masculine culture is inextricably intertwined with patriarchy. It's why society broadly finds transgender women more threatening than trans men.
Feminine culture is inextricable from patriarchy.
I’m unsure why you are now bringing trans folk into this.
Or why risk taking is inherently negative.
More risks = more differentiation of outcome and the potential for greater rewards.
It has frequently been found attractive by all genders.
It drives our curiosity.
I had a conversation with a bar owner and his son near me (who is the bartender there) and they said she couldn't even string a sentence together, was a moron.
They get paid. The young men u are talking about can’t spell crypto or blockchain. They are the jocks who could never learn science or math. These guys don’t vote or
Vote Dem. They are jocks and we don’t want them
YOUNG MEN, SAY UNDER 25, PARENTS WITH MINIMAL ROLE.
Even then, relatives usually set that type of ignorance straight very quick.
I work in a building half full of that age group. THEY'RE MUCH MORE SAVVY than crypto anything, because they work for a living.
The most out of touch billionaire statement you've made in a very very long time
Hes just another out of touch billionaire who knows fuck all about normal life. Im unfollowing him, screw these clueless assholes.
Most normal people unfortunately can't afford fees with more advanced options.
Best bank account right now?
Sofi
That would have interrupted there money laundering 👀
Apparently also inability to invest in stable investments because they’re being punished by their investment not automatically going up… no blame for them for making shitty decisions.
I don't know what people thought was going to happen by giving the worst of humanity a platform to preach from and the tools to manipulate the gullible....
Need you to not make IU look bad by saying things not based in reality like this.
I didn't know that it's primarily used for crime -- I'd love to read up on those facts if you have any links handy.
It's not. And it doesn't.
How do you get money into coin base or robinhood without a bank account?
Desperate cope. No, people don't like Dems in general.
Need to pretend that both young men, and the audience here, are so dumb they won't think for two seconds about this.
Get a bag of coins and bank notes, head down to the docks or warehouse, go out back, and trade it with a guy back there who knows a guy who knows a cryptobro. You can probably get an ounce with it as a bonus.
Imagine being so far out of touch.
Imagine thinking PayPal is a bank.
Have you no ability to draw parallels between topics?
I guess it's tough being a bot
Crawl back into your hole
The issue was 45-64 white people, strikingly from the women demo, in swing states. The male demographic voted more right wing than they did, but not by the same disparity from other race demos

What you're saying is DEFINITELY news to me.
I have not seen this trend in MY real world
A fool and their money are soon parted.
Why?
