Thank you for your perspective! "By accident" is worrying... Like the small snowball that becomes eventually an avalanche.

The crucial point is that there is no plan or agenda. Trumpism is not a totalizing ideology with a mission, but rather a set of personal and group resentments and aspirations. There is nobody lobbying for territorial conquest, as there would be no U.S. beneficiaries. But it could happen by accident

German Foreign Office just updated its travel advice to the US. Germans are explicitly warned for arrest, detention and deportation when traveling to the US. www.tagesschau.de/ausland/amer...

This is why I call DC's a "Newcomer Tax" and always tie DC's to the concept of the "Unearned Increment" (by John Stuart Mill) when discussing the question of "who should pay".

Great article. But @dougsaunders.bsky.social: what "is he after"?? Your point about the minerals and your point about the guerilla conflict inevitable with annexation are well taken... but what is the end game? @bobbyrae48.bsky.social thought it might be about the Arctic Ocean. Thoughts?!

Great point re:the public paying! He's just desperately grasping for still being able to use the 'ax the tax' slogan.. Definitely not a coherent or informed climate policy. #cdnpoli #axthetax

Yes! There is the existing Nordic Council, and NORDEFCO. But we need a more broad alliance. #nordicalliance #nordiccouncil #nordefco

That is a really great point!

Yes I totally agree. We need a new Nordic alliance, centered around the Arctic Ocean! This would also include mutual defence and military integration, free trade, and cultural exchange. Countries might include UK, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Iceland. #nordicalliance

My government will keep our tariffs on until the Americans show us respect and make credible, reliable commitments to free and fair trade. (2/2)

Conservative support is plummeting in the polls. Libs may want to wait it out (i.e "avoid stopping your enemy while they are making mistakes") I don't think Canadians want an election.

This is hilarious!

Any thoughts on possiblity of Libs and NDP forming a new agreement to govern, and Parliament resuming without a general election (until the fall)?

Over the past 4 years, the U.S. tax payer has paid $15.85 to Elon Musk owned companies in government contracts, loans, subsidies and tax credits per year.

The simultaneous idea of wanting everything to be made domestically, while at the same time wanting imports tariffs to be the main source of government income is literally the dumbest idea I have ever heard.
