🚨 BREAKING NEWS 🚨 The European Federation of Journalists representing 300,000+ journalists have announced they are leaving Elon Musk's X and will no longer be posting.

Proud to support @gayforcongress.bsky.social to replace Matt Gaetz! Make sure you get out to vote on April 1st to support Gay Valimont. If we win this race we could flip the house so it’s critical everyone get out and vote.

Hearing a lot of folks asking for Town Halls. Good. Because my team’s already on it. We’re coming to every county in District 6—because I’m not waiting for Day 1 to do what Representatives should be doing already. Show up. Speak your mind. Tell me what’s weighing on you most right now. 1/2

Shout-out to the canvassing crew in McFarland, Wisconsin doing great work to elect Judge Susan Crawford!

Just want to shout out Tammy Duckworth, who is relatively new to Bluesky. One of the most powerful and necessary voices in the Democratic Party right now. @duckworth.senate.gov

Guess losing $150 billion got under the old boy's skin. No surprise, he's responding by throwing around tired old conspiracy theories meant to intimidate and discredit us. Guess we better make #teslatakedown so big no one can hear him over our noise! And lol he's signing his tweets now?

It continues to bother me that it’s possible for me to read newspapers from 100+ years ago and not data journalism from the 10 years ago (when I wrote about this back then, the main cause was technical breakage and not corporate malevolence)

Happy International Women's Day to everyone except wanna-be kings who are hell-bent on taking away our basic rights.

Scott knows a thing or two about bankrupting Medicare. He served as CEO of Columbia/HCA Hospital which, at the time, executed the the largest health care fraud in history.

With his permission, I'm sharing Dean Treanor's response to Ed Martin's letter:

One of the most jarring things about the Wurman-Barnett argument is that they appeal to "public meaning" w/out any effort to look at what the public said about the 14th Amendment. This is from a West Virginia paper, 1866. It's representative. Only very narrow exceptions to birthright citizenship.

It's the entire email list for all DOGE employees. Have fun!

If you're 60, 69.1% of all job growth since your birth occurred under Democratic administrations. If you're 45, that number is 74.7%. If you're under 30, the number is 100%.

Elon Musk has received at least $38 BILLION dollars in government loans, subsidies, tax credits and government contracts and it’s a huge reason why he’s the richest man in the world.

Remember: Musk is a coward at heart. A weak man, not a strong one. A fragile ego just like the guy he shares an office with.

Success for All is the program at the heart of Steubenville's remarkable reading results. It's been around for decades, and numerous studies have shown it's effective. We trace the history of the program and why it's never really caught on. Episode 12 of Sold a Story: The Evidence soldastory.org

Polish Nobel Peace Prize winner Lech Wałęsa and 38 other former political prisoners of Poland's communist regime have condemned Donald Trump's treatment of Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday, which they said reminded them of communist interrogation techniques

This is a blatant violation of the 1st Amendment but a lot of cowards in academia will use this as an excuse to crack down on campus protest.

This Pastor is brilliantly on point. The bigotry & harm this Administration & its allies are inflicting on the country are incalculable. We need to call them out at every turn & stop them in their tracks.

This may be of some relevance to contemporary policy debates.

As long as Elon Musk is running his mouth about Social Security—which he appears to be trying to understand in real-time—I’ll note that DOGE has yet to find a single instance of fraud across the entire government, as I reported for @atrupar.com this week. www.publicnotice.co/p/despite-th...

Also worth noting that the public consistently overestimates spending for some of these things, such as foreign aid. If you tell them what percentage is actually spend, they tend to adjust their opinions.

This is Marco Rubio explaining how the USA promised to defend Ukraine forever if they got rid of their nuclear arsenal left after the Soviet Union fell. This is why lil marco was sinking into the couch. He was hoping we wouldn’t find it…so don’t RT right now this very second.

HEY EVERYONE REMEMBER WHEN TRUMP WAS IMPEACHED FOR DENYING AID TO UKRAINE BECAUSE HE WANTED ZELENSKY TO LIE AND SAY BAD THINGS ABOUT BIDEN AND ZELENKSY WOULDN’T DO IT? Maybe literally one fucking American newspapers could mention this in their, “think pieces,” about what happened yesterday.

A reminder for these times.

This is Winston Churchill visiting the White House during World War II. Funny how he isn’t wearing a suit either. Almost like he was a wartime leader defending his country from being slaughtered and wiped out by an authoritarian aggressor.

For the record, do I think a one-day boycott is going to make much of an economic impact? No. Do I think that a sort of "Baby's First Boycott," performative though it is, might be useful to make some folks aware of the impact of their economic power, and how it might be wielded politically? Maybe.

Epstein was on the exact same flight as Trump for at least 3 of the 7 times his name shows up in the flight log. While this does not confirm or deny any criminal activity, it does confirm that Trump had a real relationship with the convicted predator.

Exactly

I got lazy using Amazon. No more. Buying directly from businesses, using Costco on-line, local small businesses and my wonderful public library for books. No more Kindle. It feels good and I will continue.

I'm convinced this is a genuine problem. The reality of Trump is so cartoonishly, comically awful that an absolutely neutral description sounds like a hit piece, even to me. So if you're at all predisposed to think of press as biased, factual reporting looks like some relentless vendetta.
