This are red herrings and have nothing to do with the OS name in relation to the particular product hardware it runs on. Darwin as-is is not tailored for these devices, hence why the respective derivatives exist.

There seems to be some slight misunderstanding. To clarify, I was referring to the naming convention of the OS with respect to the product hardware, not the OS features or functionality.
