His unshakable fixation on tariffs as a federal government revenue stream are nothing more complicated than the fact that he will do anything and everything he can to not pay income tax. He simply can’t see beyond that. Don’t look for anything deeper.

The fact that competitive sports — a decidedly extracurricular activity — has become weaponized against academic institutions that acknowledge and affirm that trans people exist seems to suggest that the problem isn’t trans people. The problem is competitive sports tied to academic institutions.

The McMahon family will produce the 2028 election, which will be decided by cage match at Capitol One Arena in D.C. Just wait until Kamala goes John Cena on Gavin!

The sitting President of the United States of America has gifted the Communist Party of China unrivaled global influence and gifted a former KGB agent the functional dissolution of NATO.
As a child of the 1980s, the cognitive dissonance is dizzying.

Trump can kill the key deal between USPS and Amazon, crank up tariffs further on lines of Amazon-sold goods, set regulations that kill AWS globally, and make sure that Blue Origin rockets never see a launchpad. A capricious President and a conflicted owner means WaPo can’t offer independent insight.

I was also approaching the line of thought from the perspective of “What would most cis folks — especially those spreading transphobia — absolutely object to if their gender identity was called into question?”

That is very true. I guess my understanding is that in the “bathroom battles” those who ignore that trans people exist are ultimately focused on external anatomy. I wasn’t being mindful of AMAB/AFAB who’ve transitioned and are facing demagoguery starting with sports participation. Please pardon me

Rather than being oblique about chromosomes and gender markers, let’s say it aloud: penises and labias.
The question on the form should be exactly that: “When an armed agent of the United States Government forces you to take off all of your clothes, will they see a penis or a labia?”

The logical conclusion of this policy is that all international travelers to the United States must apply in person so that they can be strip searched and have their genitalia inspected.

Richard Hofstader’s The Paranoid Style in American Politics from 1964 seems an essential read. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Par...
