Every rank-and-file Republican is like this now, on the verge of tears while saying "all I want to do is give my children a future by spreading AIDS and measles and unilaterally terminating every NIH grant and also making it illegal to be trans."

It’s not a debate anymore. They’re saying it out loud. If you criticize Israel, the government will come for you, and if you’re foreign, the government will deport you for your criticism of Israel. The First Amendment, it seems, does not protect criticism of Israel or support for Palestine.

The New York Times is the first to put out comprehensive estimates on the cost of a year without U.S.A.I.D. and they’re higher than I thought: - 1.65 million deaths from AIDS - 500,000 from lack of vaccines - 550,000 from lack of food aid - 290,000 from malaria - 310,000 from TB

we love campus free speech. we need to let weird middle aged freaks go to the center of campus to yell at students about how they are faggots. but the second students start saying controversial things like “children shouldn’t be bombed” we must deport them

these are our party leaders now, ignore all other opinions

Fucking hell.

Following Trump admin's orders, Arlington cemetery's website removed references to: -Gen. Colin Powell -the Tuskegee Airmen -Hispanic Medal of Honor recipient -Black regiments in Union army -Justice Thurgood Marshall -RGB (buried along her veteran husband) www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/202...

I think dems need to start being meaner to the media

Of the three presidential campaigns against Trump, two (2016 and 2024) made elaborate appeals to centrists at the expense of their relationship with progressives, and only one (2020) prioritized efforts to bridge the gap with progressives, however impermanently. The latter approach won.

arguments over who would get blamed for a shutdown are insane. the median voter has no idea this is happening. the median voter knows one fact about politics and it’s that Donald Trump is the President

God dammit. Timing couldn’t be worse but here goes. Chuck Schumer and I are launching our new podcast “Soul Deep: A Weekly Deep Dive Into the Music of Collective Soul” tomorrow. I do NOT support his latest decision and want to make clear this is strictly a music podcast. Please check it out

this is a good example of how different the anger is this time it’s not just the DSA, it’s not just disaffected activists it’s the absolute core establishment Democratic base, outside of elected officials themselves, who have completely lost it with these feckless losers

no matter what the circumstances, democrats are always saving their energy for a mythical future situation where they will do something good

I for one grow tired of powerful geriatrics who don’t have to live in this world for much longer making cowardly and vile decisions that will immiserate the rest of us for decades and decades to come

Republicans’ partisan spending bill turns the federal government into a slush fund for Donald Trump and Elon Musk. It’s unthinkable that any Senate Democrat would hand them a blank check by voting for cloture.

Authoritarians govern through fear, not legislation. The simple fear of what they would do in certain situations can push even the opposition to capitulate. That’s success for them. We lose when we fold due to a hypothetical. We win when we challenge the REALITY that is hurting working people.

Midwestern governor with a one-seat legislative majority: The coward RethugliKKKans may dash themselves on our rocks if they wish, the tide and the seabirds will leave no trace of their remains New York/California Democrat: I’d like to vote against things I oppose but that’s not realistic

Some protesters held signs that read "Fight Nazis not students," "Free Mahmoud free Palestine," and "You can’t deport a movement."

Today I confronted “border czar” Tom Homan who came to Albany to do Trump’s bidding — push for mass deportations, carry out the assault on working class New Yorkers, and justify the unjustifiable detention of legal permanent resident and father-to-be, Mahmoud Khalil.

It’s important to examine the underlying logic here, which is that Schumer is a race traitor. What does that say about how Trump thinks of race generally? Ah. bsky.app/profile/atru...

I just think Schumer and the Senate Democrats should not vote on a continuing resolution or any other legislation that is supported by this raving antisemite.

Holy cow. This is VERY well done. This is what Team Fight looks like.

👀 🚨🚨 House Dems want hold the line vs Musk/Trump and are calling our @schumer.senate.gov: "If Chuck Schumer can’t get us a better vote, he should resign." House Dems are hearing us - let's keep pressuring Schumer/Senate Dems - #NotOneVote 4 Musk/Trump (202) 224-3121 www.cnn.com/2025/03/11/p...

Dow is down another 600 points so far today. Dropped 900 yesterday. S&P has shed 9 percent since February.

It continues to be gross how many Democrats are forgetting the true Golden Rule: If you're about to say, "fascists have a point about this marginalized group they're scapegoating," you should shut up, punch yourself in the face and not speak again until you've watched a few Holocaust documentaries.

This is illegal, and it endangers the rights of all Americans. In this country, people must be free to express their views — left or right, popular or unpopular — without being detained or punished by the government.

Admitting that the crown jewel of your portfolio is being ground into dust by unknown hackers because you don't know what the fuck you're doing while simultaneously knifing around the private data of every American is not a flex you turd
