the fact that this is just a straightforward retelling of yesterday's events without hyperbole

Exactly... calling them spineless misses the point. They have priorities that don't match ours.

My latest piece at @thenation.com takes issue with the conventional wisdom that the Dems don't know how to fight Musk's GOP brownshirts effectively. They know how. We know this because they've been waging that kind of ruthless fight against the left for 25 years. www.thenation.com/article/poli...

Maybe the reason the pundit class love AI so much is that it reminds them so much of themselves - an empty vessel, often wrong

I mean, say what you will about these bleak times, I can still laugh out loud

Favorite paragraph from this:

I feel like I'm going insane every time I see a media story about DOGE that doesn't also mention the fact that the Government Accountability Office exists and performs the exact function that DOGE pretends to, only in a credibly constitutional, non-partisan, and conflict-of-interest-free manner

Look this sucks but news outlets need to start realizing there's limited journalistic value in sitting in a room and letting a person behind a podium lie to you. You're not holding anyone to account when you do that.

So many liberals weren't radicalized during Obama because they heard "hope & change" and most of them didn't suffer from his policies: brazen capitulation to wall street, detaining of immigrants, drone warfare... but watching the democrats cave so cravenly to Trump may actually be the tipping point

This is what just happened and its the most fucking insane thing I've ever seen. 1) Article below comes out where the GOP is freaking out about working Friday. 2) Suddenly, MULTIPLE Trump nominees are fast tracked by unanimous consent. Now the Senate is on course to leave Thursday.

Okay what is going on here. Are the accounts at a private banking entity? Does the federal government have direct debit permission set up? So many questions as to how Treasury instructed this payment. (Via NY Post’s Craig McCarthy)

I don't know how this ends but it won't end well. Stocks are staying up for now so the wealthy can get out, but the economic impact is going to be massive once the effects distribute along with round up of immigrants, tariffs, and shutting down of science and research.

Musk’s attacks on federal workers pose an existential threat to the whole labor movement, all workers, and the broad Left It’s alarming that most people don’t yet understand the stakes 🧵
