Yeah absolutely the fuck not.

It's clearly a pancake with a lot of toppings. This isn't controversial or disinformation.

Actions speak louder than words, Naomi.

The people who say shit like that are the exact same people who will happily use a slur as soon as a person in a minority group isn't meeting their standards. Their allyship is always conditional on good behaviour.

Given your user name, you’re clearly the right person for this.

We’re going to get a Q tv series, a Moneypenny series, a Young Bond series, a new agent introduced in the next movie that gets their own spin-off and probably a bunch of other shit,

What is the point in claiming to be a news outlet if you can’t even accurately report someone giving a Nazi salute?

Coffee and Monster are proven to be better sources of water than milk or water. That’s just science.

Brian Cox just kind of taints anything he’s been in with his shitty ass opinions.

Democrat politicians as half of us are being marched off to camps: “It’s just a distraction! They just want tax cuts for billionaires! Focus on the price of eggs!”

Somehow it sort of worked out in the end

Bit of frosting and we’re good to go!

You know what? It actually kind of works as a cupcake now. The cookie was never happening after I updated the dough…

Always worried about what the local polycule are scheming…

A great electoral strategy that definitely always works for centre left parties is going further and further right to try attract a small number of right wing voters, while completely alienating large swathes of your natural base. It’s what Labour advised Harris to do and that went so well didn’t it

Elon Musk still being alive disproves the existence of any “deep state.”

Now I’m wondering if I don’t boil it down quite as much can I just make concentrated monster…for that quick fix when you don’t have time to mess around with 2-4 cans and just need energy now.

Literally dodging the entire point of this whole conversation… Enjoy your evening

Hey, it’s crazy that most people can be concerned with many things, isn’t it? Show your trans loved ones what the NYT did to normalise transphobia then ask them how they’d feel if you wrote for it.
comment in response to post
I want it…

Shame we can’t do polls on Bluesky. I’m fairly confident the vast majority of trans people would agree with me. Like so many of the trans people in her replies have been showing.

The worst thing about this whole saga is that the "syrup" actually tasted amazing. I wanted to pour it on a pancake or waffle.

Also, while her spouse might be fine with it, I doubt most trans people are happy with anyone working at the New York Times. Don't assume one or a few trans people being ok with it gives you a free pass. At the end of the day, she writes for the New York Times and that's a deeply transphobic paper
comment in response to post
I couldn't get past that. Every time some new transphobic hit piece was published in the paper my partner continued to work for, I'd resent them. But obviously it's different for Jane's spouse, so good for them. There's clearly a strong relationship there to get past something like that.
comment in response to post
Personally, I'd be able to look my spouse in the eye with a clear conscience if I quit. I don't know, relationships are weird. Like if my partner worked for a paper like the NYT or The Guardian in the UK, while they were being so transphobic...they probably wouldn't be my partner. But that's me.

Fuck it, I'll make the same cookie as last time. Stupid delicious normal cookie.

1 more attempt. The last shred of my sanity is on the line. Well...it looks slightly better...

Ok, the cupcake smashed, and would have needed a bit more time, so we go again. Second time lucky! I add a few minutes to the timer, pull it out and Motherfucker!!!
comment in response to post
But what about the cupcake? I wait a few more minutes. The timer goes off. Oh my god, it actually looks like a cupcake! I pull it out! And drop it on the fucking floor! 😭 Cue contained screams of rage. I'd also smashed a pyrex jug earlier while trying to clean up, so it's been an evening.

God damnit, this dough will not beat me! Add more dry ingredients. Off to the shops to by a cookie tray and the little paper things (I can't remember what they're called, I'm too angry to care right now!) And now? It's starting to look like a cookie...maybe too much dough but it's...something...
comment in response to post
Ok, so clearly this dough doesn't want to be a cookie I thought. Maybe she's a cupcake? I don't have a cupcake tray or containers but I have a small ramekin, so lets try that. What even are you?!?!
comment in response to post
That's fine, I'm not a quitter! Clearly I just need more dry ingredients in it. In goes more flour, baking soda, cornstarch, salt and another bar of dark chocolate. It'll be fine now, right? Right?!?! Well...it didn't flow out over the entire tray this time, so progress?
comment in response to post
As I'm making these cookies for a social, and its the first time, I of course had to make a test cookie. So I popped one in the oven, expecting to remove a thing of beauty. Instead I got this...
comment in response to post
Luckily I bought a new electric mixer for my baking adventures, so despite it initially sucking all of the ingredients up into one giant spire, it turned out ok. I mean, it looks like cookie dough right? Time to stick it in the fridge over night and go to a gig.
comment in response to post
Now down to the dough. Trying to make my Monster syrup cookies vegan and gluten free, having never made vegan, gluten free cookies before certainly added to the challenge but I'm locked in now. Did the syrup turn out to be a lot thicker than I thought it was going to be? Yes, yes it did! She thicc!
comment in response to post
It turned out Monster can very quickly go from boiling down near the bottom of the pot to a syrup that bubbles over very quickly. I may need an angle grinder to remove some of the cremated Monster syrup on the ring but we have our syrup!
comment in response to post
Step 1: Boil 4 cans of pacific punch monster down to a syrup. So far, everything was going well. I had the extractor fan going full blast and the windows open but still feel like I need to invest in a gasmask if I want to do this again. 2/

Wait, your spouse is trans but you write for the newspaper that's probably been one of the biggest causes of transphobia being normalised in the US? Wow, that's wild I guess love can get over almost anything. I do actually hope you're both happy and your spouse stays safe glaad.org/the-new-york...
comment in response to post
You know you can just make a list of conservatives you want to keep an eye on without following them, right? Bluesky makes it really easy. And she may not be a TERF but she's definitely TERF adjacent.
comment in response to post
You never answered the question so I'll try a third time. Have you asked the trans people in your life whether they’re happy or not that you write for a paper that played a large part in normalising transphobia in the US?

As you’re replying twice, I’ll pose the same question again. Have you asked the trans people in your life whether they’re happy or not that you write for a paper that played a large part in normalising transphobia in the US?
