Can I bet on first GM fired yet?

John Schneider and not paying players soon enough, seems to be a theme here (should have paid D Lewis after year 3, should have paid Geno, should pay Cross now...)

The raiders have more options: more cap space, higher draft picks, longer management timeline, lower year one expectations. John Schneider looked around and said 'I don't think Geno is markedly better than other options in the near term's and Pete said ok bet.

I have an urge to eat at Arby's.

If you're tanking, you're admitting the recent drafts haven't been that good, which is the opposite conclusion they came to last off-season. Would be wild if they sold that to ownership.

35 million is a joke. He had to be north of the Cousins contract and is a better player than Goff (if older). Unserious.

My guess is they're not close enough on extension numbers and this is the way they're going to close that gap.

Not everyday that a 31 personnel is a team's best 5 skill position.

My controversial take: there is not a realistic price for Russ where him + $ makes the team better in 2025 than Geno. Just can't be that big of a delta QB in free agency.

This is an insane take.

I mean there are several Seattle O-lineman that went to have good careers elsewhere. Pocic, Glowinski, and Fant come to mind.

Sign Abe now. Letting him hit FA after a healthy season would be a big mistake.

I think it's hard to be as successful as they have been and be a bad GM. I think there are better GMs, but he's still good.

Really enjoyed the discussion, but disagreed with the premise that Schneider has failed at bringing in D-line talent since Frank. Hard to do when you're not picking in the top 5, and Frank was only available for off-field reasons.

If Cross isn't the first O-lineman drafted by JS that he extends, fire the man. Cross shouldn't get anywhere near free agency (he's eligible for extension this year).

Teams spend decades looking for QBs who can pass when you have to pass. Seattle has one of the few.

Okay, so serious question - why does Geno take that contract? I think if I'm Geno's agent, I'm starting w/ Goff + Cap Inflation. He shouldn't take less than 52 apy.

This team QB'd by Derek Carr is nightmare fuel.
7 is their best player on offense, and why they're competitive.

My hope is by having an adversary in the Axis of Authoritarianism, liberalism can find its voice for its values and coalesce around them, even as dissenters in liberal societies turn to said axis for help.

As Browns fans would say, "can't fire the owner".

I'm consistently surprised a defense with this pass-rush and these top 2 corners can be this poor.

In today's "watching the game" I'm hoping the size of a D victory and more clear eyed candidates will let the party start to act like the threat is here.
