I think they could try everyone over there and see which one runs away with it.

I wouldn't put that at 99%, but maybe.

Hey Charley! I need to be active on here more.

I think Mets fans overvalue Pete because of the franchise home run record chase. He's not worth over $22m a year for 3 years.

I believe Stearns feeds it to Martino

Or the opposite way.

Especially after today's news about redirecting Alonso's money away from him and towards elite relievers.

What was the biggest area of weakness last year for the Mets? I would say the bullpen was.

Steve Cohen has made billions of dollars since purchasing the Mets. The idea of paying possibly 130-140m for a bullpen may seem like a wise investment to him.

I wouldn't. He knows he needs a deep bullpen.

Do we know that to be certain?

I don't think Cohen has a spending limit so it shouldn't affect anyone else.

There are no more penalties after you sign 2 QO players, so I suggest the Mets sign 3 QO players, which is smarter than just signing 1 QO player every offseason. You might as well pack them into 1 offseason.

Or Manaea (gulp).

Red Sox wanted a lefty like Snell, Kikuchi or Fried.

I imagine the Red Sox now go hard after Fried, and I almost think the Mets have to lock down Burnes and Soto.

Fried is about to get paid.

I have to wonder if the Dodgers have rotation room for Sasaki or Buehler.

Or Buehler?

I called 5 years for Snell. He just got it from the Dodgers.

But he says he thinks Soto will sign, not that Soto will sign.

Am I no longer a Mets fan?

Soto 14 years?
Alonso 7 years?
Manaea 4 years?
Snell 5 years?

I'm here, but there is literally nothing happening.

Smith-Njigba (75% chance of rain) or Josh Downs (likely playing catch-up against the Lions in a dome)?

It happened.

The Mets scored 3 runs across 5 innings against Finnegan last season. He was ok. His salary was rising and he would be worth a flier on a less expensive one year deal.

Very hittable even with his velocity.

A couple of housekeeping tips: you can remove the ? and everything after it at the end of a link. Also, make sure to put a gap before the link starts so it hyperlinks correctly.

Basically whoever misses out on Soto will likely have Santander as their Plan B.

It's always slightly amusing to me that ~98% of these announcements happen within a couple of hours of the deadline when I assume the decisions were made days, if not weeks, before.
