A reminder that Toronto is home to some truly beautiful spaces: from the sublime #brutalist masterpiece that is the UofT's rare books library to the interior gardens at the collision of old and new of the Terrence Donnelly Centre for Biomolecular Research.

If you ever needed proof that these stairs/seating combos don't work, here it is. Jam-packed library tonight with every seat taken, except for these which are too uncomfortable to work at or spend any amount of time on. Add proper tables and chairs though, and they are packed.

Zelenskyy demonstrating the integrity and courage any political leader should have. Diplomacy doesn't mean abandoning your morals and values.

Ontario, go vote! The provincial government has a huge impact on your daily life, from housing to transportation, yet only 44% of eligible voters participated in the last election. Let's change this! You have until 9PM to cast your ballot.

There is so much negativity online that I try very hard to remain positive, but I can't let this one go. TTC is running a shuttle of line 1, which is fine, but I don't understand why it hasn't shoveled where the bus stops. Why force users to climb over piles of snow to get in and out?

I have been remiss to posting on here, but I figured my first visit to Rideau Hall is a good occasion to get back on track. Pictured here are the appropriately named Tent Room and the ballroom.

The Toronto Society of Architects & UofT Daniels kicking off the year by putting landscape architecture first! ❤️ Looking forward to this look at Claude Cormier's incredible impact. So great to see @joelleondanis.bsky.social kick this off!

Toronto is starting 2025 with some great energy!

Edible architecture can create a thought-provoking design canon.

Cookies may be one of the best ways to talk about architecture ♥️🍪 Thank you @novakovicto.bsky.social for including my creation in such a thoughtful piece!

A quick visit to the Museum of Fine Arts in #Houston with a remarkable number of site-specific immersive pieces, including one by Carlos Cruz Diez 🇻🇪🧡💙

Once a year I go to town on a bake celebrating #Toronto as part of the Toronto Society of Architects annual #Gingerbread City. This year my submission is an edible rendition of 60 Richmond Housing Co-Operative, a fun, sustainable and interesting mid-rise housing project designed by Teeple!

I’m very excited to share the news that I will be taking on a new role as the Chief Planner at the City of Toronto! I’m looking forward to working with a very talented City planning team, with the Mayor & Council, and with all Torontonians on continuing to build an amazing city tinyurl.com/5n6ntrcy

City of Toronto has just announced that @jasonthorne.bsky.social will be our new Chief Planner! What a fantastic choice!! 🎉

Another year, another TSA Bash! So nice to see the architecture community gathered for this annual tradition. Enjoyed The Well as a venue (and would love to see a summer party version take advantage of the outdoor plazas). #ToSoArch @joelleondanis.bsky.social

Here at the Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design @uoft.bsky.social for the symposium, "Preservation? Modernist Heritage and Modern Toronto". Starting off with #OntarioPlaceForAll, presenting a vision for Ontario Place that continues its founding values while updating them for today

Lucky to have friends like @jocelynsquires.bsky.social ! She's done an incredible job at capturing my short talk today as part of UofT's symposium on the preservation of Modern Toronto. Check it out!

We're so lucky to live in a city that makes for such a great classroom! Always such a pleasure to show @jessmace.bsky.social class around the city and share it's stories.

Ok! Promise I'm going to be more active posting here now that the other platform has become unbearable. :)

Today's moment of celestial awe—Toronto might not have gotten the full annular eclipse but the glimpses of partial eclipse were pretty neat! And the phone pic didn't turn out too bad either.

Took a walk through downtown and was proud to see how much more visible Indigenous history, traditions, and stories are today in our city compared to when I first arrived. And it's just the beginning, new spaces and art pieces are emerging celebrating cultures Canada suppressed & tried to erase.

Spent part of my morning documenting the Goh Ohn Bell Shelter at Ontario Place before dismantling begins. We weren't there for long (perhaps 30 minutes), but came across dozens of people who came to say goodbye to this beautiful and culturally significant space.

This #LabourDay I am reflecting on the fact that Architects & Intern Architects continue to be exempted from many provisions of Ontario's Employment Standards Act inc. hours of work, min. wage, overtime pay, public holidays and vacation with pay. 1/2

@joelleondanis.bsky.social An underappreciated space in our city: Toronto Courthouse (south wing), 1985 addition to the 1966 complex, 📐Marani Rounthwaite and Dick.
