Trying to imagine the tone of voice they said that in

Pick so far for me is Oakham Harmonia. These guys don't usually do the hazy New England type stuff so it's a departure for them and a nice drop

I know the thing of encouraging live band performances is a bit rockist and all, but it makes for better TV

Also there seems to have been a whole year of Eternal and Bebe Winans with their song about taking somebody from the rear. It's always on

They've reached the point where I'd stopped watching it because I was always doing other stuff when it was on. I had no idea Rosie Gaines had taken up residency for a whole month

Just a song that people can loosen themselves up to, every day I remember to do it

I used to get in trouble for taping over things but not rewinding the tape to the start first, as if that was the bad bit. Imagining my parents sitting down with a bottle of wine to watch a drama they'd taped and then 40 minutes in it's suddenly some junk one of their kids has recorded, perfect

Like a variation on "how much is a pint of milk"

Part of me wonders how much money I would have saved if I just couldn't buy awful records. Like the time I spent £17 on a Nickelback album without knowing who they were or what it contained

Has she ever gained access to a non league football match at half time by sneaking in through the bar? Has she ever bought a train ticket from Vauxhall to Waterloo and then boarded the train half an hour down the line? We need to know

Oh yes of course, sorry. Whereas my dad would have made a high pitched noise at me and then gone out

Do you look back on things like that and think you should have just done it anyway? My parents didn't let me have Coke and it took me until my teens before I realised I could just buy it anyway. Grandad's given me 50p, shop down the road, what am I waiting for?

Either answer is sort of wrong so the real test is how flustered or defensive she gets about whatever her answer is

Did she think home taping was killing music (the kind of thing a future Chancellor would come out with, but not thrifty in the slightest) or did she buy things from Our Price, tape them, and then return them as unwanted gifts (thrifty, what everybody else was doing)?

I think the last thing I bought from them was one of those sandwiches where the filling exits the sandwich as you try to eat it. No thanks

Actually, which part of Britain is most likely to be rattled by a joke about removing them? I guess the answer is whichever one that is

I'd say Wales but I feel like we've put them through enough

I suppose you could argue that it being set in the past isn't really past-shagging. He's still a prat either way

Missing the point again which is that you don't actually try to win Eurovision! You don't go "country had a big moment last year, shall we enter a country-styled girl band then, reckon that will do well"

That seems dangerous, particularly on the disabled community side - people having a real stake in what's in this and how it's put together but being misrepresented?

My personal opinion is that life doesn't matter, but I wouldn't shout that from the rooftops because I wouldn't want somebody to go "actually, that man's got a point, why am I here?"
comment in response to

That's it yeah, and then my argument at the time was basically "shouldn't people be able to take the option even if your guys wouldn't want to take it for your own reasons?" But yeah, it works the other way round too

I was talking to a colleague who's a devout Catholic about it a while back and he seemed to be coming at it from a perspective that even somebody choosing to take their own life was outright wrong because it's a sacred gift or whatnot? But I think he will now be saying "what about the safeguards"

I think not wanting to be alive is fine and we should be allowed to pack it in whenever we want, but that should be our call and not something that somebody else gets to suggest or encourage, you know?

Sub headliners as boring as all fuck imo but the Deftones into Charli XCX one-two on Saturday night sounds like fun

I can't get my head around nostalgia for acts that peaked in the mid 2000s and then vanished tbh, I thought we'd agreed we had no more use for Scissor Sisters for example, but people seem to like it now

Are people genuinely that keen on Raye or have they had her presented to them so often over the last year that they've caved in, "fine, FINE"

Noah Kahan is somebody I have zero interest in even learning about tbh. Didn't like what I heard and figured I'd leave it to other people. All subjective anyway innit

Like the top line is usually comfortably the worst thing at the festival really. Last year having LCD and Little Simz in big slots was a fluke and they probably tried to get somebody shit to do them first
