Agent 47 needs to assassinate someone in Madlantis, I see.

How life experience and cultural zeitgeist influence someone's enjoyment of a game, or really any form of media, is fascinating. I've played GOTYs a few years after release and was baffled that people like them. I've played others that are mid-70s at best and adored them. Batman might be like that.

Are you a Batman fan? I imagine that Batman: The Animated Series nostalgia also played a big part in their popularity. It certainly did with me.

I think the answer is right there: they’re solid games. And in 2009, that there could be a solid game based on a preexisting property (let alone Batman) was unbelievable, given the amount of licensed shovelware we had gotten throughout the 2000s. Might be a “context of the time” sort of thing!

I think the only thing that would get them to act is the economy. If he or Musk does something that accidentally (or intentionally) destroys the financial wellbeing of red state folks (ie, hurting the “wrong people,”) then something might happen. But until then, breaking laws is A-OK in the USA.

That IS technically my name, just not the one I podcast under!

Thank YOU for making it! We have a review coming out in the next few weeks for Crimson Diamond where I get to gush in a more coherent fashion. So glad that I made it one of my Christmas presents to myself!

I believe this is why federal and provincial Tories (and right-wing parties across the world) were pushing for elections ASAP after Trump won. Trump winning was great for them; Trump governing is a disaster for them. But I don't think anyone, especially them, thought it would get this bad this fast.

After reading those reports, I feel like BioWare is well on the path towards its own personal Suicide Mission.

I want Vagrant Story HD-2D and I want it now!

…I’m not going to pretend that I wouldn’t want a full HD-2D-style remake of Final Fantasy VII Remake in the style of Final Fantasy VI. FFVII Demake? Take my money.

Until I was well into my 30s, I suffered from crippling insomnia. The strategy I used was to put on spoken audio I knew REALLY well to act as active white noise. I could pay attention to it without needing to think about it. In my case, it was the complete works of George Carlin, but you do you.

Given how these assholes think, I’m not sure I want Elon Musk to go to therapy. He might see the value in it, get excited, buy BetterHelp, put Peterson in charge, and create an entire “therapy” industry that is really a right-wing grift machine that brainwashes needy and unsuspecting patients.

Yup. There it is.

Plus, if/when he does capitulate, he’ll likely do the same as with Mexico: put tariffs on hold for 30 days (realistically, indefinitely). If there’s one thing Canadians love, it’s having a guillotine blade hanging over us for months! The damage, and my research into Canadian alternatives, is done.

I asked my partner and she swears that she's one of them. I'm not sure I believe her.

I wish that Apple would do a better job on making it all more available for non-Apple users. I know you CAN watch it online but the app should be readily available on Android devices and better promoted on Roku, etc.

I wish to add Mythic Quest to this list!

Well, not unless you were planning on opening your Like a Dragon videos to an ENTIRELY new audience.

Can't speak highly enough of a decently sized electric blanket. Saved my frozen ass a few times when I lived in a below-ground apartment in my 20s.

Makes no sense to me. Even ignoring COVID, the number of vacations that have been ruined because someone caught a mild two-day bug on the plane to Disney World. Put on a mask and that entire thing can be avoided for everyone.

Highly recommend it. I find it to be an excellent word processor that makes it easy to structure your work, especially if there are multiple sections. I use it to write scripts rather than novels, but my partner uses it for long-form narrative prose, and she loves it. But there is a learning curve!

It's shocking how good the content on Apple TV+ is. And agreed. I still can't finish Monsters Inc. past the halfway mark for breakup-related reasons.

I'm hoping it will just be a three-and-a-half hour cut of "Look Down."

The last virtual appointment I had, my clinic moved to a (really buggy) proprietary online system for calls. So I turned off my "No Unknown Callers" option and sat beside my phone for 15 minutes until I called the clinic, only to be told, "Oh, we forgot to tell you..."

It’s astonishing that, five years after the pandemic forced remote appointments, clinics still haven’t figured out how to either: a) clearly explain the process to patients when scheduling the appointment, or b) use a more reliable method of contact that isn’t plagued by constant scams and spam.
