This was a good listen ahead of tomorrow’s summit in London.

This is Winston Churchill visiting the White House during World War II. Funny how he isn’t wearing a suit either. Almost like he was a wartime leader defending his country from being slaughtered and wiped out by an authoritarian aggressor.

This is very good.

Easy to miss this sort of news because of what happened in the Oval Office today, but the US is also unilaterally disarming vs Russia in cyberspace. I’m sure that Putin will reciprocate…

Am I getting the wrong impression, or is right that on domestic side there is a clear plan to redirect and take control of the instruments of the state, and on foreign policy side it’s like “we have a radio station?!”

Trump, "Putin wants to end the war, but Zelenskyy wants to keep fighting" Putin can end it by withdrawing any time

So while Trump banned the Associated Press from the Oval Office, a reporter from Russia's state-owned news agency TASS was allowed in to cover his attack on Zelensky

The most telling sentence tonight. It's not that Trump hasn't admitted to it.

No10 spokeswoman says Keir Starmer has tonight spoken to both President Trump and President Zelenskyy. “He retains his unwavering support for Ukraine and is playing his part to find a path forward to a lasting peace, based on sovereignty and security for Ukraine.”

"Trump and Vance have revealed to Americans and to America’s allies their alignment with Russia, and their animosity toward Ukraine in general and its president in particular...The national-security system of the West is led by 2 men...who deeply sympathize with the world’s most aggressive dictator"

This has to be right. Starmer's summit on Sunday has become a potentially decisive moment. If Europeans don't throw their weight behind Ukraine and behind a massive and immediate increase in their defence efforts (& damn the deficits), Europe will find itself at the mercy of Putin & Trump.

Republicans in Congress will, of course, continue to cravenly enable all of this. They could stop it with one vote if they had the nerve.

This would be the same Robert Jenrick that said during the Tory leadership campaign: "If I was an American citizen I would be voting for Donald Trump".

A "defence levy" that can be colloquially known as the "Trump tax" is definitely an option now.

"The force of things has perhaps led us to do things that we did not forsee." Louis-Antoine de Saint-Just, 1794.

This last question is really critical - we know it will take time for Europe to ramp up supplies - what is available to buy in the meantime from elswhere?

The reason Vance and Trump can't stand Zelensky is he has leverage over them - they need him for the deal they want - and they cannot cope with that.

No-one could imagine Trump speaking to Putin like that. Which is one of the reasons that just happened.

The British press has given Nigel Farage’s party a free ride for too long bylinetimes.com/2025/02/28/r...

The Starmer offer of a state visit now a nightmare.

I think this is the closest many of us have ever got to seeing the real Trump. The only consistent thread in his entire unhinged rant was the love & praise for Vladimir Putin. Zelensky has more courage & dignity in his little finger than every member of Trump's regime & fan club combined.

This is 100% right. America is now willingly aligned with Russia. Until it removes Trump, Vance and Musk that is its choice.

What a joke this country has become. Far right Trump flatterers cosplaying as journalists in the Oval Office. Rubio sitting there rightly looking embarrassed.

This is the most awful Trump moment to date. And as for Vance. . .

Good God this is a catastrophe. I can't believe what I'm watching. I don't have the words. These people are horrific bullies.

The full exchange between Trump, Zelenskiy and Vance is like nothing I've ever seen before. For that to happen at all is shocking. For it to happen in front of the cameras leaves every diplomatic norm in shreds. Starmer's meeting yesterday might as well have come from another century
