Korea, Grenada, Panama, and the Gulf War were US victories, or on the victorious side. Iraq could be considered a US victory too, since they did defeat Saddam's forces, with what followed being negative consequences of that victory.

Doing this could help soften relations with other Russian backed factions because they're showing even if they can't provide support at the very least staying loyal guarantees the former leadership asylum if things go wrong.

Yeah in reality that was the British that burned the White House. More people should know the Battle of Queenston Heights, where British regulars, local Militia, and First Nations forces defeated an American force that outnumbered them 3-1.
