I approve of it as an idea, but it shouldn't be unilaterally decreed by one man.

I don't know Kristol's views on trans issues, but he seems to place a high value on decorum and decency and a lack of crudity. He's probably just offended that a person that has committed no crime (except that is existing) is being bullied for political theater.

I've been happy that she escaped the horseshoe theory of politics. She started out as a leftist activist but has matured into a smart, more moderated politician. And I don't use that P word as an insult here.

I think the overall product in Goodfellas is slightly superior, but Casino is more memorable in parts. Better soundtrack certainly.

It just increases my contempt for them and the incessant coddling they receive.

The experience of how Twitter changed to X changed my view on some free speech principles. Having an absolutist commitment to no speech standards at all doesn't work in the same way that anarchy isn't an improvement over government.

They legitimized and normalized Trump to begin with, and now they're doing the same with his first baby steps into autocracy. The pot is getting hotter, and some of the frogs are turning up the stove.

It's nice to not have to dodge my way through literal Nazis and PUSSY IN BIO just to read a news article.

I'm not sure how that phrase can be avoided - he was literally convicted of it in court. It's like Scientologists getting upset over calling L Ron a science fiction writer.

He put it in all caps. I hope you can someday recover from this.

This place is so much better for my mental health. I didn't realize how stressed Twitter was making me until I finally came here. Doom scrolling through Nazis, porn, and trolls was wearing us all down.

Democrats need to leak this report immediately. Mail this out to every news outlet in the country. Observing norms while the other side is demolishing them accomplishes nothing.

At least he's not a drag performer. That would truly be unforgiveable.

You're my favourite Twitter follow except for the dire and malicious slander against Led, Lord of Zeppelins

I think any attempt to directly connect the Bible to modern political or social issues will just be an exercise in picking and choosing on any side. That said, most conservative takes tend to lean on the OT. The actual red words are...not super conservative.

I still believe that it'll turn right in the end...but it's definitely going to get worse before it gets better.

This election didn't show what politics we have - it shows what values we have. This was a moral judgment.

Right now, AI is a very useful assistant. You can ask it to write an essay or give a summary on a topic, and it'll give an excellent framework with food details, but you'll absolutely need to edit and fact check. It's nowhere near being ready to replace human work. In 10 years though...
