Doom Scroller trying to get over it by moving to Bluesky. I love videogames and movies and won't engage in political talk for the sake of my own mental health. Thankyou!

People are paying early to be beta testers - and worse, many of said beta testers will go on to spoil those games for you if you aren't careful on socials

It's worse when you make the realisation they aren't playing early - you're playing late. The game was ready and could have been released three days earlier but they decided to not let you have it unless you gave them more money

Me and this guy spend a LOT of time on long walks and I'll tell him every thought in my head, especially the ones I feel I can't tell other people. He listens, he doesn't respond, and sometimes that's all I need.

Like for Dragon Quest XI! One of my favourite RPGs ever that absolutely does not get the love it deserves.

I thought this was a Trump joke for WAY too long ðŸ˜

Glad you enjoyed it! Can't recommend Metaphor enough, it seems in most sectors Metaphor is up there as their best ever work and literally my only critique would be it can have uncomfortable difficulty spikes, but if you can handle SMT that's no issue!

I've heard the SMT games are at the top end of the Atlus difficulty challenge, and Metaphor has somewhat scared me off of trying that just yet. Eager to see how you find it!

It really sucks. Consider yourself lucky you've never had the double whammy of catching a moustache hair in the tab and THEN throwing it in your own face 😂

One of the simplest joys in life is reading a platinum guide on a game and seeing something along the lines of "no missables, you can collect all trophies at your leisure during the main story"
comment in response to
post
Absolutely this. I love a good platinum hunt but I always start with a glance at the trophy list and if the game wants me to do multiple playthroughs or needs me to compete a super difficulty I couldn't pick from the start, I don't bother. Good trophy lists should be polished off in one playthrough

I'm one of those that actually read the book that played the DLC AND read the book that covered the true ending of the story from the cut DLC.
Trust me, the game sucked, but man was it also one of the biggest fumbles of a videogame story of all time.

Fallen idealists, such as Ardyn in FF 15. What he wanted wasn't evil but a long series of set backs and tragedies has warped it into a tragedy

Its only sat there while it's factory resetting ready for a trade in but apparently even doing that nowadays it's very warm 😂

I'm now a middle manager and it gets twice as bad. Now I get anxiety about meetings with my manager AND anxiety thinking about how to ask my team for the meetings without distressing them 😂

Wow this made me feel like garbage. Mines also 4 years old and here is it being used as a pillow by my German shepherd while it's replacement looks down smugly ðŸ˜

I'll preorder once I'm convinced the material provided to the customer base gives me adequate scope on the quality of the product. That's sometimes reviews, early stream content, deep dives, previous performance of the developer, etc.
I'll never preorder like a year in advance.

Game takes a *long* time to get used to it's systems, it's almost designed to ensure you miss stuff first time around. Only now fighting the optional super boss at the end do I feel like I kind of "get" it. Just enjoy the ride!

Devils advocate, reconciling with family sounds like a sensible way to spend time when there is a genuine fear the world is ending and you can't do anything about it.

The Metaphor solution is a good one that could easily be scaled to systems without the same day progression.
More "I need some time to do X to let us do Y, come see me when you are ready" and less "the world is ending rush here RIGHT now"

I think that's the crux of the problem - no developer wants to make a bad game, but they're at the whim of the Execs. The Execs will back off when they start getting bad publicity and as a result the game quality improves. Unfortunately, it's only a matter of time till they start rushing them again.

Its actually 50% off in the PS5 sale if you don't mind digital. I'm planning on picking that up myself soon

I've always thought it's something to do with my brain chemistry - even when I've bought ultimate/GOTY editions with DLC included I've often never bothered playing that DLC. I've felt the main story gave me closure on the game and more content just feels off somehow.

I've commited that I have to finish Metaphor Refantazio before I start that one but my partner has been putting dozens of hours into it and is nearly done. It's been a real test of my willpower to avoid looking at the screen during 😂

My bad, I meant how is it running performance wise 😂

How does it run now? I struggled through when it first came out but it definitely deserves a second look if it can hold a stable frame rate now!

I was really hoping for a Valentine/Cid DLC to introduce those characters like they did Yuffie in Part Q. But honestly yeah...id much rather we have part 3 as soon as possible
