Whoever advises the House Dems should be fired! In what universe did they think that would be a good look? They would have been better wearing tee shirts with the msgs instead of those black auction paddles!

We don’t need solitary voices! We need a leader, a clear strategy and cohesion. Even if the strategy is not perfect, it can be fine tuned later! Schumer is clearly not that person. We need someone to step up and act as the leader of the Party. We are rudderless!

As an expert in the field, can you shed any light on the Trump being a Russian agent called Krasnov rumours?

Its one thing for Trump to side with Putin, but for Putin to state that Trump needs to go further after being in political wilderness for so long - he must have something on him!

There are a few people who know the full extent of Trump’s connection to Putin beyond the Mueller Report - Andrew Weissmann, Robert Mueller and others on the team. Surely it is time to speak up for the sake of the country - pls!

Kamala was running for office, Trump was running to avoid jail for the rest of his life - who wanted it more? Trump promised anything and everything to win - even the impossible: to resolve wars and bring prices down on day one! He doesn’t care about delivering. He’s avoided jail!

I’m sorry but i don’t buy these tales of regret or the ‘I didn’t believe he would do it’ line. If your family member was undocumented and you still voted for Trump because of pocket book issues(!!) thats on you - no sympathy from me! Worst still, the tariffs or #TrumpTaxes will be a double-whammy!
comment in response to
post
When you systematically tear down expertise, such as in the medical field, people start doubting every expert. So that when experts warned of the consequences of tariffs (or #TrumpTaxes), the voters did not believe.

And this is his honeymoon period. After the debacle over the temporary hold on funding, would expect that number to go south quickly. Expect the first of many firings soon!!

Wow!! I’ve never seen Tapper like this. He seems genuinely reluctant to challenge Miller. I guess this is based on his previous interview with Miller during the first admin and what has recently happened to Acosta!
comment in response to

Watched the full program - Jennings got fried on DOJ weaponisation and the salute. Bad night hence Lowry running to his defence. This is what owning the R’s looks like - at last!!
comment in response to

When Miller starts shouting I literally switch off. There is no compassion or logic in what he was stating and saying it louder does not make it any clearer!!

Guys, we need to listen to the electorate otherwise we’ll be in the wilderness for years. The last election was about strong leaders vs perceived weak libs and we know the outcome! Anyway, i get the emotion but why would she post this only to take it down minutes later?
comment in response to
post
Why focus on this? The electorate told us that based on the percentage of the population this affects it was a low priority! The R’s attack line was something like ‘D’s care more about pronouns than about you’ - ouch! We need to listen and not make the same mistakes!
comment in response to

Yes but Trump is intentionally flooding the zone with his 300 EO’s. If we don’t focus and chase everything we’ll achieve nothing! Would focus on the economy and popular legislation that Trump has undone which will have a negative impact. Followed by his age and time spent on golf course.

I now watch for someone like Catherine (who he clearly despises) to confront him on TV. Bakari Sellers tried to calm him down by gently touching his arm during a heated moment in another episode to which Jennings responded ‘don’t touch me’ his face full of what looked like anger!
comment in response to

Scott Jennings on Jan 6 was one of the Republican voices of reason. It is clear to me from the non-political moments on Abby Phillips program that he is a genuinely good guy. That’s why it has been particularly painful to watch his conversion to full MAGA over time on live TV.
comment in response to

Its tricky cos as usual Trump is flooding the zone with sh1t. Dems need to pick say 3 big ticket areas and really focus on them. Grocery prices are a red herring as no-one expects Trump to solve this in a week - save that one for later!
comment in response to
post
Unfortunately we Dems will lose this argument. Most Americans what illegal immigrants returned to their home countries quickly but legally - that’s what the last election was all about and we have to accept it. Dems need to carefully navigate this tricky issue!
comment in response to

But I still do not understand what has turned him so hard right to MAGA (i’ve avoided saying ‘radicalised’). Is it purely money? And the stuff about Sam Altman that he’s posting seems so vindictive and petty - can anyone explain?
comment in response to
post
This so far is the best explanation i’ve read. The ‘my heart goes out to you’ line never made sense to me. Although I wouldn’t be surprised if he was ‘Nazi/Adolf-curious’.

R’s want to get into get into a protracted argument about masculinity (Watters, Carlson and Rogan etc seem to be the tip of spear on this). This will be the next culture war after the transgender stuff. Pls D’s do not get sucked into this - stay focused on the key issues.
comment in response to

Let’s take a leaf out of the R playbook and put this squarely at Trumps feet - nothing to do with the reality of bird flu. He promised he would bring prices down from day one..,”promises made, promises broken”.
comment in response to

R’s do this every confirmation, they announce some big headline ‘no’ votes but then the individual gets confirmed 51-49 or thereabouts - watch!!

Maybe i missed it but have any prominent people from the Christian Nationalist community come out to support the bishop? Can any true person of faith question what she said?

Biden keeps telling us he’s a 50 year career politician and yet went into that first debate and could not string a coherent sentence together when all he had to do was show competence. Ofc the natural consequence of that is D’s lose and R’s undo all his good work - it makes me mad every time!
comment in response to

It amazes me that many of Trumps supporters think that they won’t be a victim of his vindictive policies….think again Bruce!! Elections have consequences.
comment in response to

When Bolton went on air to shout Trump wasn’t fit to be Prez and was asked would he therefore vote for Biden, he said no knowing that Biden had authorised his security and Trump would exact revenge. Elections have consequences so he gets no sympathy from me!

You know, my posts say things like ‘we must learn from Trump’ so i consider myself a center left D who concedes that we were outplayed. But I don’t think anyone can look at what Musk does and say it was a ‘my heart goes out to you’ moment. Look at his anger and biting of his bottom lip as he does it!

Bullshit show a video doing heart to salute on all of them. Ill wait.. oh wait the only video is elon.
comment in response to

Trump knows that but understands the performative aspect of trying to deliver for his base. It reinforces his ‘authenticity’ label. D’s need to learn from this! Where were our Executive Orders on guns, abortion, minimum wage, democracy. We should have done something anything to show we were serious!
comment in response to

Oh good - now show me a meme of them all endorsing Germany’s AFD and the UK’s Paul Robinson of the BNP? Its ok, i’ll wait!!
comment in response to

When D’s told them, they wouldn’t listen. Now people need to feel pain to change voting behaviours. My question is how are D’s going to effectively communicate these changes - not our traditional area of strength!
comment in response to

Truly shocking! Musk knows what he’s doing. The American people should be reminded of this everyday for the next few months to ruin Trumps honeymoon period!
comment in response to
post
Trump understands the performative aspect of being president (far more certainly than Biden) - the need to be seen doing stuff! He doesn’t care what politicos think. The D’s need to learn from this.

By all reporting, Putin is on the ropes - economy in tatters, stuck in a war he cannot afford and unable to support his allies because of it. If Trump rescues him, we will know that Putin has something on him!

The era of ‘when they go low, we go high’ is officially over thankfully! The gloves are off. An official announcement such as ‘I’m not attending that felon’s inauguration - no way…..and, by the way……I’m running for President of the United States’ would have been delicious!!

Wait…..what? Is the election this coming November? I love Joe but where was this in the run up to the election before he was kicked off the ticket? And which is the real Joe, the one who seemed scared to set out a bold agenda or this one. People say they voted for Trump cos they knew where he stood!
comment in response to
post
This is a classic Republican tactic - they repeat often that elections are rigged then say people have lost faith in the elections . Or that the DOJ/FBI have been weaponized then say that people have lost faith in the DOJ. D’s need to be smarter and call this ‘cause and effect’ logic out!
comment in response to

Trump wasn’t held accountable cos the legal processes started too late and were too slow! If Jack Smith had gone to SCOTUS in 2022 or 2023 his report would have been released well before the election rather than after. Garland decided to wait until the J6 committee reported out - fatal error!
comment in response to

Repulicans will say anything to get power be it the Supremes (“Roe v Wade is settled law”). Or be it Trump (“I’ll bring prices down so fast and end the war in Ukraine in 24 hours”). D’s do not seem able to hold them accountable or make them pay at the ballot box.
comment in response to

I still find it hard to believe that they were with Trump for 4 years and were so shocked by his actions. They are staunch Christians but they weren’t repelled by this man until Jan 6th? Is she more angry that Trump sicced a mob on them or that there is no place in the R party for them?
comment in response to

The voters knew this and still voted for him. This does not move the needle! Shaming him does not work.
comment in response to

Aaron, love the energy but why? The voters take the gains from Democrats fights on healthcare then vote for R’s who want to take it away….I know, right! To affect change we need our hands on the levers of power. These old battles do not move the needle - we need a New Frontier imho.
comment in response to

“When they go low we go high!” and MAGA laughs at us and points to securing the Presidency, Senate and House…..again! We’re repeating the same sh*t and expecting a different outcome. A Democratic New Way is required.
comment in response to
post
I partially agree. But the ‘when they go low we go high’ philosophy doesn’t work! Do you think the R’s really care that we are highlighting Jan 6? Or do they point to the 3-0 scoreboard (Prez, Senate and House) and laugh to themselves? Voters voted! Time for new tactics methinks

The working class priority does not seem to be minimum wage increase but the forlorn hope that these billionaires will increase their access to improvement opportunities

I am in a dilemma here - one part of me feels the D’s were morally right to restore parts of the original bill. The ‘McConnell’ part of me thinks the people voted for this - have at it! They need to feel the dysfunction to change their voting behavior! Too harsh??
comment in response to

Yes - but are Democrats going to change their message discipline? Who will drive this change and own it? Messaging needs to start in rural communities asking one simple question over and over again for the next 4 years - “What have Republicans done for you to earn your vote?”.
