We've been, correctly, beating them up for not doing anything. Today they did something and they deserve credit. Nice job, Dems. More, please.

I actually think the dems should attend the SOTU, wait till the 2nd sentence, and then walk out en masse, that'll do it, there'll be no address, he'll just have a meltdown on national Tv

I 💙 Vermont.

Teen Spirit was already taken. This fits perfectly

“How do you think the president was prepared to issue all these executive orders? How do you think they were prepared to make all of these appointments in such quick succession after he got into office? Project 2025.” talkingpointsmemo.com/where-things...

Can't wait for the Party of Reagan to explain how Lech Walesa is a woke commie simp.

This is fantastic. Huge high five to everyone who called your reps.

I don't really know how to shout this from the rooftops any louder: If this actually happens, it would spell the end of U.S. numerical weather prediction--the scientific models, run on supercomputers, used to create virtually all weather forecasts. www.axios.com/2025/0...

Watters: You are trying to impress people that no one cares about. That’s what wrong with the Democrats. They are always trying to be popular with the wrong crowd like… women

If you’ve never attempted to organize thousands of academics from diverse disciplines into agreeing on text, I simply do not give a shit how easy you think it should have been to add something else. Instead of yelling at me, go to your room and think about what you did.

It sure looks like the biggest “waste, fraud and abuse” is actually DOGE

#trumpcession

Gavin Newsom was all but exiled by his entire party after 2004 because he held a mass gay wedding ceremony on the steps of SF City Hall--"too much, too soon" said Dianne Feinstein. That same year, voters in seven states banned same-sex marriage by referenda and California joined them in 2008

BREAKING: Catholic Charities Diocese of Fort Worth, Texas, sues HHS, alleging that HHS's refusal to pay $36 million in open grant agreements has resulted in "over 100,000 eligible individuals and families losing access to critical services" and layoffs and furloughs across partner agencies.

Wow can't believe there's a loss in productivity from sending every employee an email demanding they drop everything to recount what they did, with their job on the line. Totally unforeseeable, so long as you're a nepobaby who has never done a day of real work in your life.

The rare fireblizznado on its way

at least DOJ counsel is being candid.

just so everyone understands what this will likely appear as 1) some number of benefit checks are interrupted in an opening salvo 2) some number of affected beneficiaries immediately sue because they have a statutory entitlement to that money from the Congress 3) checks resume under court order

✅ Yes, Elon Musk reposted a meme on X that called people who benefit from U.S. federal programs the "Parasite Class."

When you want to know who betrayed our Republic alongside Musk, start here.

Your 'doom quote' for today: "It is, I promise, worse than you think. If your anxiety about global warming is dominated by fears of sea-level rise, you are barely scratching the surface of what terrors are possible—food shortages, refugee emergencies, climate wars, and economic devastation."

Our think our Chaz was as excited to see Zelenskyy as anyone. He's good like that, you know.

God I love GREEN DAY!!!

I know it's pointless to say this, but the Beneficial Ownership reporting is really simple to do. The only way it's an "absolute disaster" or "economic menace" is if you are fully aware that writing down your owners will produce criminal liability.

As Donald Trump, Elon Musk and Republicans in Congress work to slash critical Medicaid funding, I convened a panel of health care practitioners and Medicaid recipients who explain why this program is a life-or-death necessity for millions—and critical to Maryland.

On #WorldWildlifeDay, an apt reminder of the damage that Brexit has had on our irreplaceable eco-systems. This article from 2023 explains how Brexit has damaged our water ways. buff.ly/uifqDNG 🧵👇

WATCH: DOGE *savings* are filled with huge lies/errors and take credit for contracts that ended as far back as 2005. (@MarshaBlackburn - any comment?) Again: a charade to pave the way for tax cuts for the rich. It’s about ideology, not efficiency. Full: www.nytimes.com/video/us/pol...

Of course I'm plugging the crap out of this great little D&D adventure I published. All my federal contracts are now officially terminated. If D&D isn't your thing, you can also buy an OpenCTD kit and build your own oceanographic instrument. You might need it. oceanographyforeveryone.bigcartel.com

Since the president has signed an EO making English the official language of the United States, here is the first non-English copy of the Declaration of Independence, printed in German just days after July 4, 1776. We have always been multilingual. cdm16274.contentdm.oclc.org/digital/coll...

Horrific: One of the USAID programs Trump just terminated was set to deliver lifesaving treatment to hundreds of thousands of starving kids abroad. Much of it is now sitting in a Georgia warehouse. Rubio's promise to preserve urgent assistance was a lie. New piece: newrepublic.com/article/1921...

the details here are quite technical. there's finding money and there's finding money. but agreeing to spend USG money that is not appropriated is actually a statutory crime on the part of the individual who makes the obligation. So not Trump, but the appointee/employee who does it.

Corrupt? Sure. But also directly dangerous? And how! FAA has done careful, long testing /study of new tower-communication system. Now a rush to switch to system that *just happens* to be owned by Mr. Efficiency himself, Elon. (Has he even been to an ATC facility? Probably like Vance re Ukraine)

Why am I still shocked about how low America will go?

Over the last month we’ve seen the death of the post-WW2 era of American allegiance with Europe and most Americans don’t even know it happened

Francis Collins led the mapping of the human genome, and chose to do big scientific to benefit the public. He is a a former NIH Director. He just resigned his position in government. His resignation letter: www.nytimes.com/2025/03/01/u...

Media folks still amplifying the misinformation here, by calling gross cancelled spending “savings”. It’s not *savings* unless a credible source has done an analysis that shows the *same quality and quantity* of services are still being delivered at lower (social) costs. And that hasn’t been done.

18F was dissolved because it saved money. We pushed back against contractors who tried to screw American taxpayers. We showed how cheap and good government software can be. Musk hates that. writing by Dan Tangherlini via @donmoyn.bsky.social

This does *not* mean no flu shots in the US next year - not by itself, anyway. The WHO picked and published their recommended strains as always. This year. It’s an A/H1N1, an A/H3N2, and a B/Austria (+ a B/Phuket for quadrivalent shots*). US manufacturers *can* still use the WHO guidelines.

Are you one of the many federal employees wondering what the hell is going on with those stupid bullet point emails? Well don’t worry. We’ve got all the guidance you could possibly need right here.

We ate at a great restaurant tonight in Washington DC called Immigrant Food. It is a stones throw from the White House. These are the shirts the staff wears. 💙
