It was the 1st I’d heard the news that their dog was there too (not in MN). And now I’m sitting here sobbing about lovely, brave Gilbert and his family. So senseless 💔

He’s certainly consistent is his awfulness. What a pestiferous little man. Big yikes Texas’s 3rd Congressional District, 62.5% of you voted for this malignant thumb to vote away your protection against financial services ripping you off.

Well done USADF and the Inter-American Foundation! This is exactly what I had hoped OPM/GSA/Treasury leadership would do on Jan. 31st; i.e., NOT COMPLY with illegal orders from DOGE employees like Ethan Shaotran, Nate Cavanaugh, & DOGE lawyer Jake Altik.

@hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social - How, HOW, are you still misreading the public feedback this badly? It’s actually astonishing. You need to change your strategy ASAP, because it’s been thoroughly disappointing so far.

Equally dumb, but much more dangerous, canceling a nuclear waste storage facility lease because they keyword searched for “waste”: talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/doge-...

I always futilely hope that the ineffective Congresspeople that are so, so bad at public messaging are just really busy—working hard on brutally effective cloakroom deals, twisting arms with a smile & pat on the back like LBJ—but that is never the case it seems. Lost art, I guess.

I would very much like to stop having to check Twitter to see if I’m fired, or not, and/or what new hurdle I’m supposed to jump that is completely outside my agency’s reporting structure. Our LT said back in January they are getting zero advanced notice when he pulls these stunts.

One can only hope it will finally get moderate Republicans motivated to pressure their Congresspeople.

“‘I would rather not explain it now, but it's sort of self evident I think,’ Trump told reporters Monday when asked why the U.S. opposed Ukraine's resolution.” - oh yeah, buddy. Loud & clear.

Huge grain of salt there guys. AfD: 10.4% in 2021 to over 20% so far (results still coming in). It's in 2nd place and is having its most successful election yet, extremely concerning. Also, 1st place CDU's Merz is much further right than centrist Merkel. www.aljazeera.com/news/2025/2/...

I had no idea the Asian American demographic did the same thing until I started seeing their adult kids post TikToks in 2024 complaining that their parents were determined to vote for Trump to keep other Asian immigrants out. Mind-boggling stuff. www.npr.org/2024/11/22/n...

Just need them to hit the 3rd rail of cutting more mandatory spending to finally mobilize moderate Republicans. If nothing else thus far has gotten them to pressure their Congresspeople, they won’t budge to stop this unless their $$ is directly impacted with immediate effect.

🤦🏻‍♀️ a robber baron? "If I had raised your wages, you would have spent that money by buying a better cut of meat or more drink for your dinner. But what you needed, though you didn't know it, was my libraries and concert halls. And that's what I'm giving to you." www.npr.org/2013/08/01/2...

So, Mr. McCabe, you were totally cool with voting for all the “other stuff” then, huh? Brave man, submitting to a national-stage interview given what are likely to be quite a few stories from high school/college he’d prefer not to be public.

I so wish I believed that would be enough to sway Trump/Musk supporters, but I had several tell me yesterday that they were “glad” so many veterans were part of the Fed job cuts b/c they obviously weren’t doing any work and deserved to be fired. Truly insane cruelty.

I can certainly relate to struggling with patience and grace sometimes, although I admit I'm a much harsher critic on myself for imperfect work than I am for others.
