i used to think cooking things separately was just a waste of time and fussy but it really does make a difference! same with frying spices in the ghee instead of just tossing it all in together to stew. your meal looks just tasty good.

universal healthcare is really sane wouldn't it be great if we could discuss that we could finance it with a pool of money sometime known as taxes, currently known as premiums and copays

Isabel Wilkerson's book Caste covers this too. It's a good read.

any time i want to 1) make sure my spouse feels loved adored and very special and 2) use up leftovers to clear out the fridge it's only math to put everything into a bit of pastry. pie shaped dinner is elegant by definition

squirrels love anything you plant, not just wintergreen. anything i put in a pot or plant in the ground they feel is a personal challenge to uproot and bury a peanut.

but how will your employer be able to hold your health care hostage if you dare stage a strike
comment in response to post
it has always dismayed me that unions are so proud of the great health benefits they negotiate, and use that as a wedge against Universal Healthcare when it's just absolutely this situation which makes it clear health care should not have any relationship to one's employment

If you have not made the NYT classic plum torte recipe, I can't recommend it highly enough. Stupid simple, freezes very well. I made ten this plum season b/c my neighbor's fruit just goes to waste otherwise. cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/3783...

if you want small batch this proportion is great: 1 yolk 1 t water 1 t lemon juice 1/4t salt 1/2cup oil. be VERY slow adding oil, even til the last drop! this makes enough for 1-2 people, it's really best if you have a nice warm egg straight from the hen but that's not necessary.
