Dear Volodymyr Zelenskyy, dear Ukrainian friends, you are not alone.

To be clear, I believe that the US should be thanking Zelenskyy and Ukraine for standing up and defending freedom. They’re the ones bearing this burden in lives and disruption. It’s only the small and insecure who think they should be thanking us.

No-one could imagine Trump speaking to Putin like that. Which is one of the reasons that just happened.

Bloody hell - stooges or overtired toddlers ? so worrying ( but fully expected) #whitehouse #Trump #vance #ukraine

yes

Merz just said on German TV that the primary priority of his government will be to ensure that Europe can achieve full strategic independence from the United States in the defence against Russia. Merz was once a die hard Atlanicist. Now, after Trump he is a Gaullist. Extraordinary.

President Zelenskyy has been one of the greatest leaders of our time, guiding Ukraine through the darkest period of its recent history, rising up to Russia’s unwarranted aggression, being an inspiration to the Ukrainian people and ensuring that Ukraine’s voice is heard on the world stage.

Ooooops. Another big Trump, Kennedy and Musk screw-up... USDA accidentally fired officials working on bird flu and is now trying to rehire them.. An Agriculture Department spokesperson told NBC News that officials are "working to swiftly rectify the situation." www.nbcnews.com/politics/dog...

A Trump shill on Newsnight claims there are more people in prison in UK jails for freedom of speech violations than in Putin’s Russia. These people are radicalised, insane, plain stupid or some combination of all three.

A modest claim from a party that couldn't fix potholes or train dentists.

A welcome antidote to the xenophobic nonsense about "low-wage" migrant workers that floods the opinion pages of the Telegraph and Times. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

It won't capture the headlines but Labour has met its pledge for 2m extra hospital appointments. A close relation is having cataracts treated 5 days after diagnosis. Unsexy but important stuff.

John Major is on R4 now being very critical of the Trump administration, which he calls very different to any US presidency he has seen. Major says JD Vance's speech in Munich was "not statesmanship" and it is odd to lecture about free speech while "cuddling Mr Putin".

In this new world, if you're not around the table, you're on the menu. If China, Russia, US are allowed to decide Europe's future, our future won't be ours. European leaders...lead! on.ft.com/3CQFzlI

‘Sweet moderation, heart of this Nation’ I loved this album but it’s beginning to look like we have bigger asks than just ‘a living wage, cradle to grave’ of our Government now in the face of the Global pressure.

It's like we all live at Four Seasons Total Landscaping now.

It's been a long time since Private Eye's satire has made me audibly wince, but this is so to the point if it were a knife people would demand it be banned.

With everything going on and what seems to be a brewing concerted effort to influence our Country the #BBC needs to finance, hire and up its news and investigative game. Except influence has been happening at BBC too?

Good work George.

This is her every interchange . #pmqs

"This is getting tedious", Starmer says about this PMQs. Finally, someone telling it how it is.

Exquisite victimhood. But nobody MADE her a hard right pin-up & culture warrior. She didn't HAVE to write in the Telegraph or speak at Tory Conferences & neocon US think tanks. Her being sidelined is just the flip-side of the huge partisan favour she has enjoyed for years. youtu.be/k05eH25rC3g?...

The UK can secure significant growth of 1.7% - 2.2% through a policy of deep alignment with the EU on goods and services, while staying within Starmer's red lines. This is the approach to push for: peak ambition within the constraints Labour has set. www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/...

Colour-coding ? #ofsted really we are not 6 year olds who can be hoodwinked.

Absolutely spot on from Rory Stewart

Trump is a thug, a bully and a gangster. This is what statesmanship looks like: doing what's necessary to protect your country's interests, but keeping open the hand of friendship and hoping for a day when the US will return to its senses.

Five years on, few Britons think Brexit has been good for anything % saying Brexit has had a positive impact on... Control the UK has over its laws: 31% UK's ability to respond to COVID-19: 23% UK's level of international trade: 11% NHS: 6% Full list in chart 👇 yougov.co.uk/politics/art...

What we really need is journalists who are willing & able to hold Farage to account

Now that’s out of order

If I had any spare hair I'd be pulling it out.

That’s it - bye bye x

Christ

Ok my people on here who were also on Twitter- who has deleted their X account? I think I should. I don’t use it anymore on principle and I suspect many I followed are the same.

If Kemi Badenoch was even a tenth as clever as she thinks she is, she'd be a genius.

I’m needing this atm.

Some politicians are more likeable as they look and talk like human beings. It's a rare quality. Charles Kennedy had it. So does @darrenpjones.bsky.social. #BBCBreakfast

Plan!

💥 It passes!! 💥 The Youth Mobility (EU Countries) Bill has just passed its first reading. No opposition voiced by the govt. your thousands of emails stopped them shutting it down. Well done @jamesmaccleary.bsky.social on a superb speech. 👏👏👏

oversight board criticises Meta policy changes www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I mean it’s sort of amazing that the incoming US President has basically said he’s going to declare war on Denmark, annex Canada and rename bits of the globe to his liking and broadcast news is just rolling with it like he’s delivered a sombre and thoughtful policy announcement. Absolute insanity.

Word of the day is ‘pavonise’ (19th century): to strut about like a peacock, all puffed up with conceit.

“The Danish king has shocked some historians by changing the royal coat of arms to more prominently feature Greenland and the Faroe Islands – in what has also been seen as a rebuke to Donald Trump” www.theguardian.com/world/2025/j...

One of instagators of the far right riots has just been sentenced to 7 1/2 years in prison Thanks go to @hopenothate.org.uk 🙏🏼
