I’ve temporarily unpublished it. The amount of “weird” stuff appearing because people tag #pregnancy to it is just too high for me to handle as single admin 😞

The non-existent cooking skills of my husband are a strong motivator to bringing my kids into the kitchen from a young age 😅

Omg! This is shocking and heartbreaking. Women treated like objects of possession and their bodies & choices controlled by a system that works against what can be the best for them and their babies. Are there birth activists working on this? How to support? I’ll be thinking of Irish women 🙏

Oh 💩.. I live in Denmark and had the privilege of having my second birth a home birth against hospital / OBGYN recommendations. Private midwives paid by the government to come here and support me in my choice✨ I wish ALL women had this privilege

Safety, transcendence, cosyness, no interventions, .. in essence the best start of life I could imagine giving my children the opportunity to have.

Hi Janet, what does it mean that criteria for Homebirth is low? Aren’t women allowed to make their own choice in place of birth? 😞

Having first date ever kid-free? Surely you’ll spend it talking about them. Travelling for work? Insomnia hits because you’re used to waking up 1000x night. First day of daycare? Bring them baaaaack after the first couple of hours have passed. Mum life 😄

I’ve literally thought about this so much. They have no idea how much I don’t have it all figured out and pretty much learning this “parenting” thing as we go along 😄

There’s nothing more important for a baby than the affection and presence of their parents. The unhurried rhythm of daily family life gives them security, emotional connection, and resilience - something they’ll take for their entire life. ❤️ it’s a privilege, unfortunately not for all/everywhere

Oh yes. And then waking up suddenly to check if everyone’s still alive, all good, uff. 😅🙏✨

Hi Kiara ☺️🥰 I just created a feed for pregnancy and birth today. Keen to get feedback so we can keep it relevant to the community. Feed here: bsky.app/profile/mart...

Still learning the meanders of Bluesky. How does one find their own “people” and communities?

I recently learnt that even birth trauma can show up. Birth! Though most of us will never remember our birth, the subconscious holds it’s experience which can be triggered in our day to day

Happy new lap around the sun! ☀️ may the next one bring you all of that, above all - love and joy!

Here in Denmark libraries are actually vital and core to families’ lives. It’s a place where we meet other families, children usually play (they have indoor play areas surrounded by amazing books.. and toys), we go to events there, we can rent way more than books - board games, video games, etc.

What an interesting question. I would want people to gather and share the beauty if life. Maybe have a little ritual to remind them that we’re still all connected (especially for my children) and a token they could take with them whenever they’re feeling down.
