Like I said it's not an easy one and PE kits are an issue, although I don't think other countries are immune to poverty related bullying I think it's just accepted. The real solution is to tackle that, but that requires some parents to change their attitudes and pass that onto their kids.

It's a difficult one. On paper giving parents/carers more choice should make clothing kids cheaper. However this can lead to kids facing difficulties if they are deemed to be wearing cheap/less fashionable clothes or the same clothes for several days. Not easy to single kids out with uniforms.

My son has just turned 16. He loves history, specifically WW1 & 2. He also loves football (soccer) and games. He had options on the Treaty of Versailles at age 14 and is now eligible to vote in Scottish elections. He's perhaps extreme but kids have plenty of political views...just listen to them.

I urge you to never, ever play Chuckie Egg on a ZX Spectrum 48k. While you'll learn the true definition of imprecision I fear the frustration would be too much for you. Within the hours and hours of fun with family and friends, the lack of precision was just part of the enjoyment.

Where to start.... Transformers Marvel Action Hour Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Thundercats Mysterious City of Gold Galaxy High Bananaman Captain Bucky O'Hare Count Duckula Trapdoor He-man Inspector Gadget. Can't choose one and you can't make me 😜

The last 20 years have been some ride, almost bookended by late goals against and for Ross County. Quite ridiculous to see such a dip after a cup double. Some folks should take a good look at themselves but they won't.

That's quite the statement. I'd certainly dispute that punk rock has been ruined.

Is that first line how one would implement mTLS in Rockstar?

Problem with such wide raging tarriffs is many companies you do business with will be impacted so the things you do buy will go up. 2nd hand market is great....but prices will go up there too as demand increases. Bartering is great for those that have something. Those that don't would struggle.

Snap! For anyone wondering, the first aid kit used for the "nice field dressing" in the tunnel came from the boot of the car they pushed off the road. I love the film with a passion....so much so I inignore a machine needing a user interface to itself, presented in english.

While I commend your nephew as there will have been, and will continue to be, challenges that make those achievements that bit more difficult I also think it's important to continue to acknowledge that an autistic person (or any person) that does none of those things still has value.

Bravo indeed! I'm confident my eldest will never write a poem, I'm equally confident this will never matter to me.

I have soo many memories but I'd have to say playing Quake for the first time. The jump in the game engine tech was outstanding. I remember looking up ,a wow moment in itself, at the room architecture and shadows. Far Cry gets a mention as I climbed a mountain and just looked at the island and sea

This is inaccurate and adds to the difficulties people with autism face. The spectrum isn't linear and one cannot be somewhere on it, it's more like a bit flag and not everyone is diagnosed with ASD. Saying everyone is on the spectrum, perpetuates the myth that those that are don't really need help.

I am really against the idea of judging someone's ability based on their appearance and having some predefined "look" to adhere to. While it can start with pointing out tattoos, chosen attire, hairstyle it can swiftly move onto judging people for things they can't choose e.g. injury, disability

Make American Grow Again.

The USA would be wise to look at its electoral system that enabled this and the political system that is providing no safeguard against a vain narcissist and his puppeteers.
comment in response to post
I still think Brexit was worse. While these tariffs are a monumental economic mistake (well maybe not if you consider Trump's puppeteers maybe have another agenda) Brexit tore through so many other pillars of our constitution it's left us economically, legally and scientifically worse off.

Confused Scotsman here....just what is the emergency that has prompted the use of emergency powers and why are there no mechanisms to challenge this. The UK has over the last 10 years has had it's fair share of nonsense but parliamentary process has largely kept that in check (ignore Brexit)

I don't like to generalise a population but I genuinely believe the majority of Americans don't fully understand what is going on here. MAGA supporters whittle it down to the Trump, and by extension the USA, just standing up for itself. They also thought Team American was a documentary.

Wait a minute...what? Hook is fantastic entertainment. I was under the impression the majority of folks shared this opinion. For the record the critics were also way off with Electric State, it quite simply offered around 2 hours of fun for me and the kids. That is enough.

When Lizz Truss and Kwasi Kwarteng went totally rogue the markets went wild and they were both punted. Great result but left me feeling the markets have a little too much influence. What if they reject a radical change that genuinely would benefit the majority?

The way read it, granted quickly, was they were excluded from reciprocal tarrifs. There's still the 10% blanket tarrif that applies to imports from all countries. But if they are excluded from the 10% too then someone has seen sense
comment in response to post
I hadn't a clue of the scaie of pharmaceuticals the US imports until today. In a country with an already, almost punitive approach to healthcare you'd think someone in the US administration would give Trump's head a wobble.

This is surely better than the well drying up 😜 Imagine realising you'd played every game there has ever been and will ever be.

You have pretty much described my feelings as a we'll travelled Scotsman. I know many wonderful people from the US but I view them more as prisoners in their own country. It fills me with anger that the slavering mess of a man who happens to be President will be allowed to set foot in my country.

Chelsea Dagger has some redeeming features and I have joined in in a karaoke sing along to it. But before I fire myself into the sun I'd like to offer "I Wanna be Adored" by the Stone Roses as an example of why record producers just need to sometimes say "no" and ask the engineer to wipe the tracks.

And let's not forget the dislodged sm57 on Money For Nothing! It's not even just the mistakes just the imagination of the human mind. Nobody could reasonably assume that Yodeling had any place in rock music, until Focus went at it. Or Ian Anderson and his flute. Or Franz Nicolay with his accordion

Starmer really needs to wisen up and be bold. We need much closer ties with EU and need to distance ourselves from the US. Europe and the UK can no longer trust the US officials. The fact we've invited Trump to the UK for a 2nd time is embarrassing. Absolutely no need to do so.

You're forgetting he knows the two of them. This makes it ok.

If the world allows Ukraine to fall, Putin will not stop. US will become less safe and poorer. Putin has played Trump like a fiddle. Perhaps Zekensky should have violently stormed the Oval office with a large group and made some demands. This doesn't seem to be illegal or disrespectful anymore.

I got into trouble for doing my homework as the teacher hadn't expected me to and had no other work for me. She really got mad when I started writing my own short story while listening to U.F.O. Long story involving me and another boy with the same name, both put in the wrong level of class.

Sorry if these don't meet the criteria, and hence why they aren't on the list, but Manchester has this: www.scienceandindustrymuseum.org.uk/whats-on/mee... among some other computing exhibits And Dundee's McManus Galleries has a small exhibit around Sinclair and computer games. Both are free!

Totally agree. I am fairly capable and have a great understanding of a lot of my kids' subjects. But can I teach them how to learn for themselves? I tried in 2020 and...nope. Home schooling is a necessity for some and proper support should be given and that starts with understanding its limits.

If I'm honest there's very rarely anything we feel is a must see anymore. Even when there is by the time we get around to organising to go see something it's no longer showing....I'm convinced films use to run for a lot longer. Truth is, in the last 10 years TV series have excited me more.

Not sure ternary would fix the real issue here which is variable naming. Rename the "down" variable and things aren't so bad. *apologies if I've waded into some sarcasm with an "actually" type post.

My interpretation is that the whole philosophy of the silos, as dictated by the Pact, is to suppress this kind of thinking, suppress innovation and hide/destroy anything that encourages it. Not even trying to understand the outside environment seems consistent with this.
