It has been two weeks since a Georgia woman was arrested for her miscarriage, and not one major national outlet has covered the story

This is such a lovely tribute to Val Kilmer from Hilarie Burton ❤️

Forever my huckleberry. RIP Val Kilmer

This is wild to me, because it's the complete opposite of my experience in fandom. Of course, my primary fandom was Buffy, not Trek (I've enjoyed lots of Trek, but never spent time in fandom places for it), and I also know this is a characteristic of male vs. female fannishness, but...

WaPo's Ron Charles, in his Book Club newsletter, on Meta's repeated questions about his plans to review Sarah Wynn-Williams's "Careless People": "In my 27 years of reviewing and editing newspaper books sections, no company has ever done this with me."

Oh, PLEASE stop feeding kitties raw food diets! The bird flu is making them sick and some have died 🥺 This is serious 💔

My takeaway from Musk's comments about empathy is that we do not need to have any for him — &, in fact, he would prefer that we don't. There are people in this world we don't need to understand. We only need to work against their aims and make sure that they have as little influence as possible.

New blog post: thoughts on newly minted Oscar-winner Flow, a haunting, beautiful animated film that asks you to experience an apocalypse through the eyes of uncomprehending animals, and makes you wonder whether we aren't just as lost as they are. wrongquestions.blogspot.com/2025/03/rece...

That is correct, Mr. AI Overview.

Every mainstream attempt to grapple with the rise of Tate and other misogynist ideologues have posed them as a product of men’s despair. Few have posited them as an assault on women’s safety and dignity.

Maybe we weren’t meant to wake up and read 20 terrible things immediately.

I know not all Buffy fans loved the introduction of Dawn. I still think it's one of the most gutsy moves I've seen a series make, and it depended in large part on Trachtenberg being able to convincingly play the character as if she'd always been part of the cast. RIP. variety.com/2025/film/ne...

Probably my favorite Dawn moment from the BtVS. Michelle Trachtenberg’s sudden passing has hit me like a ton of bricks but atleast we can remember her this way

I'm so sad about this that I don't even know what to say.

Sheba is very intently watching Flow this morning.

I know we talk about this constantly but it is truly one of the greatest mindfucks of my lifetime. as an 80s kid a Nazi was the most unambiguously, nonnegotiably evil thing you could even be ADJACENT TO, like morality for kindergarteners, and now we have to relitigate that shit every day???? ffs

A gorgeous horse frolicking in the snow is a beautiful sight, but there’s a hidden layer of beauty to this, too. This is Tiz, a retired racehorse who came to us in terrible condition last fall. Seeing him start to thrive, not merely survive, is magical! ✨

During the 1st Trump admin, people squeezed out some privileged mouth-farts about what great art we’d get out of it, because art thrives on rebellion or whatever. I always thought traumatizing a generation of artists would do the opposite. Watching that halftime show...it’s not just the trauma 🧵
