Once upon a time, having an 8am class felt like a ludicrous scheduling mishap. Now, I can’t help but wake up at 5am every morning and I hate it.

And they have very intricate and deep backstories with fully fleshed-out motivations and dreams and fears.

I still remember when I realized that I could just buy *whatever I wanted* at the store.

There is building in your town that has a bunch of stuff that you can utilize for an agreed-upon amount of time whenever you want. And you’ve already paid for it with your tax dollars. Why don’t more people do this?

I like to play on the “Story” mode and treat it as a practice run for when I put it on the hardest mode and inevitably flip out.

I’m getting a variety of cute animals. I have yet to find an issue with this.

Look up Die Hard Dice. Great people, great prices, great designs. Be careful though. How many dice sets do you need? Just one more.

Reverting back to oral tradition and storytelling is gonna be wild. “Gather ‘round little ones and let me tell you the tale of the great alchemist Walter White.”

Same here. Played Baldur’s Gate, then got the new handbook, and then thought “Well, I need dice to start playing again and I got rid of my stuff a long time ago.” And now I have more dice than I’ve ever had in my life.

1.) Find out what it’s like to spar/grapple at 100% effort. You’re gonna find out you have about 30 seconds of energy. 2.) Once you start making gains and confidence in ability, remember that there is always a bigger fish. Be smart. Be humble. Weight classes exist for a reason.

There is no such thing as a “fair fight” in self-defense. The only unfair fight, is the fight you lose. Fight dirty.

Wherever you are, take a look around and ask yourself “If I had to, how could I get out of here the fastest?”

Gear and training are awesome but sometimes being able to sprint or pull yourself over a wall are much better options if the situation allows.

If it helps (and this is absolutely not a substitute for an actual class and continued training) look up what a MARCH exam/assessment/protocol is and become familiar with it for emergencies. Sign up for a class though to understand how to use medical interventions (tourniquets, chest seals, etc.).

As soon as those mannequins started moving, I became incredibly generous with my ammo.

Yeah, IIRC shIps made from American oak(?) trees were known for being significantly harder to sink compared to European ships. It’s why the USS Constitution was nicknamed “Old Ironsides” but that one was launched in about 1794, I think.

“Kaizen”, simply defined, is the Japanese philosophy of improving everyday even if by 1%. Even if your help isn’t the most exciting or glamorous, that 1% is 1% more than yesterday.

Basic land navigation and map reading sound intimidating until you look up “orienteering”. Start small, find easy orienteering courses and add a little challenge to a weekend hike.
