According to the City of Paris, in the last 10 years 150,000 trees have been planted and 45 hectares of parks created in the city, all intended to not only improve quality-of-life today, but also help the city adapt to and manage summer heatwaves of 50℃ (122F) by 2050. Plant a lot more urban trees.

A single 400-year-old ancient oak produces 234,000 litres of oxygen a year while soaking up carbon dioxide, and can support more than 2,000 species of bird, insect, fungus, and lichen. Nature is amazing - we need more of it, not less. Please repost if you agree 🌳

I think this is one of my favourite colourful climate chart type things, because it depicts two things at once: - Things are going to get worse, no matter what - The degree to which they get worse depends on decisions made today theconversation.com/my-new-dark-... by @edhawkins.org

“Ever wonder if others worry as much about the climate as you do? You’re not as alone as you think. And the more we speak up about their concern for the climate, the quicker we can spark real change.” We can change the world with our hands. imagine5.com/articles/eve...

Remember this one? Before & after of a brain after a 20 minute walk — why walking to work, or school, or just to get the intellectual juices flowing, is linked to better creative & intellectual performance. Among MANY other benefits to you and to society. Design and build more walkable cities.

Nice article in Nature about what the research says about Meta's decision to stop their fact-checking program. My 2 cents; “Studies provide very consistent evidence that fact-checking does at least partially reduce misperceptions about false claims.” www.nature.com/articles/d41...
