It IS hard to break in, but some career paths are much more open to unconventional backgrounds or skill sets than others. If you're at all interested in computer stuff, I'd be happy to talk to you about some career things, if that's any help.

I hear you, I don't read opinion. Newsroom and opinion are separate for good reasons.
Also, Ive reduced my intake of news and increased just reading books. In general, I find it hard to assimilate or remember much of what i read in news because, by its nature, there's no persistent structure.

Nytimes gets a lot of shit, but considering the breadth and volume of coverage, on balance, they are still my paper of choice. But propublica is obviously an amazing institution.

I have a triumph speed twin. I live in baltimore and my first motorcycle was stolen, so I was hesitant to get a second. But fortunately I found an affordable garage in the neighborhood.

dril is kinda the defacto king of weird twitter -- the best and most prolific of the bunch. Highly recommend you follow them here, or if you still have twitter read some of their stuff.
I find them hysterical, but, as in al matters of taste, your mileage may vary.

It is by the bluesky vibes alone I set my mind in motion.
It is by the vibes that thoughts acquire goodness, the brain acquires good habits, the habits become a warning.
